Ooops, forgot to post these photos almost two weeks ago. (26/1/2022) 203NorthTerrace-January2022-1.jpg 203NorthTerrace-January2022-2.jpg 203NorthTerrace-January2022-3.jpg I wonder why didn't they finish putting the fins on the north side of the building? Look closely (particularly in the last photo...

The 60 King William building currently under construction also mentions a supermarket, though not much more detail about size or brand. The main supermarket brand missing is obviously ALDI... they strategically surrounded the CBD with stores but seemingly don't venture to put one actually into the c...

No, it's parallel to Flinders, so it will be some walkway / plaza / garden below the bridge.VinyTapestry849 wrote:Wait a minute, hold up. Are they building a pool bridge over the road to link the two towers?!?

Re: New City Arena
The issue isn't the stadium, it's the priorities. Our health system is a disaster. That should be fixed first before we even entertain the notion of building another stadium. To be short, I disagree with that. Was there ever a time when the Health system was not a disaster? And every time more mone...

Have you walked from the proposed site to Hindley Street? It must surprise you how non-pedestrian friendly it is. Otherwise the walk from Memorial Drive is quicker and lands you in the heart of the CBD, don't believe me? Try it for yourself. Actually,I asked because I do walk the exact route fairly...

Re: New City Arena
Artists are not the ones bypassing us. It is the promoters. The reason has nothing to do with venues. We have venues. The reason is money. They don't make money or struggle to make money here. It is what it is. This also applies to many of the music festivals we used to have, very little profit was...

The Accor website is taking accommodation bookings as of 4th November. Slowwwwly getting there! Interested in the occupancy rate of the Presidential Suite, at over $5300 a night..... Well, at some point they took bookings for September, then October, now November... Though they have started fixing ...

Too early for its own thread, but David Loyd and UniSA have clearly opened up negotiations about their City East campus / Brookman building, telling Uni Adelaide that it won't come cheap.... And he wants to close off Hindley street, which I actually think might be a good idea. From the Advertiser: U...

Harcourts is now offering a rooftop bar on the 27th floor for lease. Presumably that was the original amenity level for residents.
Could they be holding out for some serviced apartment / hotel type deal for large parts of the building?

A little NIMBY in me has to say "No, you are building into my view...", but practically it might even make my outlook more interesting. Will be interesting to see this one go up. If this project can get up, it will be a welcome boost for the area. West Terrace has been neglected for a long...

Not sure if that has been posted somewhere already, but state government is now providing a 3D map of developments in the metropolitan area:

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council
Adelaide will never have a metropolitan mayor, as for all practical purposes we already have one.... the job is grandiosely called state premier, but for all practical purposes it's pretty much being mayor of Adelaide and some handholding of a lot of empty bushland and desert. I mean when the questi...

The difference is the council was the vendor/seller here and had the power to veto/not sell the site unless the development complied with their own guidelines and thus render the DAC powerless. With the previous 15 storey DAC/Makris approval, the council had no say. Further were developers misled b...

I welcome a building in this location both for the opportunity it presents to restore the heritage building and to block out views to Dwell behind. However, I think the proposed height is probably overambitious, especially considering its only access will be from the very narrow laneways. Do you me...
