Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

A good airport experience to me is the following

Easy access from the city centre
Flights run on time
Helpful staff
Good customs area (for international)
Good areas for in terminal plane spotting

Ask the Greens about that one.

They shut down the refineries and the coal fired power stations.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Gauge conversion is not as difficult as it's made out to be. The rolling stock is easy to gauge convert. It only took two weeks to convert the Adelaide-Melbourne railway. Adelaide Metro has one fifth the track, plus the sleepers are ready to go. I reckon the Adelaide Metro network could be converte...

You think Bolivar will be an issue? You wait and see the bank up at the Regency Rd intersection once the traffic can come from Gawler without stopping. Its already bad enough.

The worst intersection in the state is just going to get even worse.

The only good use for that connection would be to turn railcars. Passengers wouldn't use it.

Better late than never, but its finally complete. The area flows so much better now.

It really did go quick in the last few weeks. Almost Melbourne pace.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The simple fact is that trains work good when they're on the flats and not so when there's even a small hill.

You'll never get trains through the Adelaide Hills any faster than they currently are without some tunnel or major earthworks. We just don't have the money or necessity to do such a thing.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Fiji airways pulling out is pretty disappointing. Adelaide's track record with international airlines can be best described as an 'utter disgrace'. Melbourne is a one hour flight away. Would an airline like EVA Air, China Eastern, ANA/JAL, Vietnam or Thai send a plane here when they can get it full...

Fiji is stopping flights at the end of Jul 19, predictably.
