Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Adelaide's PT service is a disjointed mess right now. Any effort from 3rd parties to improve it is worth giving a go.

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

I wish we could just electrify the whole network and use electrics on the Belair Line. But this is Adelaide, so that'll never happen.

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

There needs to be a bigger slip lane on the northbound side of Marion Rd at the intersection with Sir Donald Bradman Dr. There's always really bad queuing there.

Those intersection costs though - when you've gotta pay those lollypop workers 70 bucks an hour to stand around, no wonder it costs so much.
They don't get paid $70/hour.

whatever they do get paid, its easy money

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Service & Policy

Extending the O-Bahn to GG should be a priority. The land is there. The old mob could have built that instead of the tram to nowhere along North Tce which took away a lane and all the right turns and U-turns. That project alone would take more cars off the road than that tram has done in its entire ...

That spur line is/was a typical DPTI white elephant that shafted the NRM. No need for 2 stations within 400m of each other and the NRM lost their tracks. They'd already lost enough after the 1995 conversion. Those intersection costs though - when you've gotta pay those lollypop workers 70 bucks an h...

Park Terrace in Salisbury is a more urgent level crossing need than Brighton Road in my opinion.
Again its a safe Labor seat so there's no need to give it priority.

Putting that aside, both crossings are appalling and need work.

Qantas flights to Chile and South Africa pretty much full all the time. Those are 747 services as well.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

The $3 is only charged when pick ups are done from the main ranks. You could in theory hail a taxi from outside this to avoid the fee. The AAL people don't like seeing you do that.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Tonsley line doesn't need to be double track. What's the point of duplicating a line that not many people use anyway. Just cause a few gunzels said its a good idea?

The money is better spent upgrading stations and working on other busier lines.
