[U/C] Re: #U/C: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $100 million

I haven't been in Adelaide for a few weeks now so am keen for an update... Anyone heard about the retailers they have lined up? From the Eastern Courier article last June (http://eastern-courier-messenger.whereilive.com.au/news/story/work-starts-on-village/) I expected something would have been anno...

Re: New Retail in the CBD

Sorry to disappoint the fashionistas but IF Zara was to open in Adelaide, it would be at least their 3rd store in Aus. They have already secured sites in Melbourne and Sydney, with the Melbourne store actually on-track to open before the Sydney one. And whilst I am not privy to any confirmed news, I...

[COM] Re: APP: Rundle Place (Harris Scarfe) | 102m 21lvl Office/Re

Been off-air for a little but may have some news on potential big name anchors for the development. I've been told to look out for floor plans with a big column-free space on or near the Rundle Mall frontage. If anyone has access to any, can you post it and I can confirm the name.

That's great Scooter Guy - where/how the hell did you find it?

Some of the people in that ad are still there too, minus the big hair and shoulder pads.

Re: New Retail in the CBD

A bit late on this topic but just a comment on the 7pm close - if you happen to be in Melbourne or Sydney on a weekday evening, have a look at the shops from 5pm onwards. Many on the 'ant-trails' love the evening trade because they do almost as much trade then as they do at lunchtime. It also has th...

[U/C] Re: #U/C: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $100 million

I think it says alot about the ridiculous rents these places charge when they are building these projects on near 100% lended money FYI - the area that was referred to as Stage 2 (the south eastern multistorey carpark and new mall entry statement) was all paid for out of cashflow. Whilst I am not p...

Re: CBD Development: General

On the same end of the Mall as Mono's post, I'm reliably informed that another large change will be announced shortly, this time for the southern side of the Mall. :secret: Can't detail anything just yet but will let you know as soon as I have the all-clear (unless they go to market sooner than I re...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment

Southern Cross station is almost as far from the centre of Melbourne as Keswick Terminal is from the centre of Adelaide. It's a similar story with Central station in Sydney and Roma Street in Brisbane. Bull. Southern Cross, Sydney Central and Roma Street are all inside their respective CBDs and are...

[U/C] Re: SWP: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | 20m | 6lvls | Mixed

I think a lot of the comments posted (esp in the last 12 hours) have a certain amount of truth to them - there are lots of reasons why it would not proceed immdediately. Keep in mind also that a project such as this will have a PC date somewhere around 2 years from commencement so they are trying to...

[U/C] Re: SWP: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | 20m | 6lvls | Mixed

Not sure how reliable the information is but I was recently told by an East Coast colleague that Makris is offering the site around to some big insto's. Not saying they have been approached but someone like Colonial could certainly make it work with their expertise and relationships with luxe brands...

[U/C] Re: #PRO - Burnside Village Redevelopment - $100 million

I found it interesting that Peter Cohen said they expect to have "high-end lifestyle, high-end fashion but for all age groups and budgets". Did anyone else spot the contradiction...? Also, have a look at their website to see the latest plans for this stage ( http://www.burnsidevillage.com....

[COM] Re: SOS for 'dying' Rundle Mall

Wayno, I'm not sure of the comparative numbers of caprarks or other relevant items but Centro wound up the fund that owned the Charles Street Plaza and Adelaide Central Carpark. Before it did so, it sold the whole building for $47M+change to Peregrine Corp (The Shahin Family) from memory. In my prev...

[U/C] Re: #Proposed: 88 O'Connell St (Le Cornu Site) - 6 lvls

It seems to me that at least a few on this forum have this development close to their hearts, so how about an opinion from someone who is looking at this purely from the outside (i.e. no interest either way in what does or does not go up there - eventually)? As much as many of us in the property ind...

Re: Big new supermarket next to Harbourtown...

Hey aussie2000, made a couple of enquiries over the weekend and I'm told the entire project is a JV between ING Real Estate and Lewis Land (tho could be wrong). LL have a lot of residential development experience in Queensland.
