Yeah I agree with you there, I have always found it stupid why 2 modes of PT serve the one destination, when one clearly has a faster travel time.
I think what Adelaide's PT system needs to be transformed into, is a system where heavy rail is used for the outer major centres (Elizabeth, Noarlunga ...

Welcome to the forums toby.
The canal idea was proposed in the mid/late 1800's. It wouldn't be viable now economically.

However, I do think a good tourist drawcard would be the establishment of a light rail line between the city and the port down Port Road, using those Resturant Trams.

Culwulla.

A hi-rise is defined as greater than 12 floors or 35m. Culwulla says that its length is 90m, which is more than double its height at 40m. Therefore Australia's longest hi-rise building.

Btw - I thought the upgrade was around the 400-600 million figure. Not 250.

given that it is 2007 now - and by 2050, the suggestions seems to be that traffic travel time will take an extra 43 minutes? I dont think so.

I'd rather the idea of compulsorarily acquiring a city block, preferably in the south end of the city adjacent to one of the squares.
