Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Ethelton?.....Why even bother with this station! Why not rebuild Glanville a little further south and "delete" Ethelton. Yes folks some sort of "master plan" is needed for each line but will we get one, I doubt it..vision is something that doesn't come naturally for South Australian governments whe...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

OK, here is the news. Thank GOD Ovingham is getting an upgrade, it would have been so embarrassing spending all this money on the Torrens Road overpass and leaving Ovingham Station as it is. Also good to see Ethelton on that list, it looks like an embarrassment when you consider how much investment ...

Great location, and it will be good to see another factory that turned into a carpark being demolished.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

SA government announce commitment to refurbish rundown Adelaide train stations. Hopefully this is across the entire network and not just the Seaford line (where the marginal seats are) https://www.facebook.com/LiberalSA/videos/313374490279808 The clip description includes a reference to 15 stations...

Re: Cheap Airport O-Bahn

When it comes to the question of trackless trams, my answer is the same as to a "drain O-Bahn". No. Lots of cities, including Perth, The Sunshine Coast and Geelong are either implementing or considering implementing this technology. I have not heard of this happening in any of those cities. Can you ...

As terrible as this building looks, it is being built rather quickly.

Maybe this is a solution for South Road/Daws Road. The motorway could go over the top with a roundabout underneath.
Why? There's not that much room, so a lot of property would have to be acquired.

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

I wouldn't have a problem with it if it includes open space that can be used by the public 75% of the time. At least this way we know that it will be maintained at a decent level while still allowing for public access, and the council would not be charged with the upkeep. I wonder how the other club...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

What I don't see is any form of positive promotion of the benefits of using public transport. It should be advertised on TV, on the radio, out in the public and more. Imagine being able to utilise a cost savings calculator to show the environmental, economic, social and time benefits of ditching th...

And yet they still haven't resolved the issue with having the elevator within the check out area rather than within the shop itself. Why is that an issue? It makes perfect sense. The only bad thing about it is that it feels very awkward exiting to Grenfell Street from the food court if you aren't a...

The Penola Bypass is only one lane in each direction, so it could well be that here as well. However, the road through Truro does carry 7,200 vehicles per day, which is getting close to the threshold of needing 2 lanes in each direction. The Truro bypass means that once you leave Adelaide, you don'...
