From the sounds of it, they are moving interstate... is that reasonable relocation costs? Moving interstate is not a necessity for their business as it managed to operate in Adelaide for so many years. I can understand moving to another location in Adelaide, but getting the government to up their op...

Heysen tunnels were built using mining machines -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heysen_Tunnels They are slightly different, normal tunnel boring machines are usually made by herrenknecht (even the boring company by elon uses these machines). They put in concrete shell at the same time whilst tunnel...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

how can we trust the government to build tunnels when they cant even get retaining walls right To be totally honest, i think they should scrap tunnels and just do a raised / lowered motorway the entire length. Yes peoples homes & businesses will go. Yes some heritage listed things will go. I th...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I want to see a proper view of the roads going over the Torrens, because moving the motorway east and putting the B road back down at grade would seemingly undo the corner straightening on the other side of the river and actually make it worse, unless they plan to pave over half the cemetery Someth...

"scrapped bridge around James Congdon Drive"

Pretty sure they have one, https://youtu.be/EEJskxsWVB8?t=98 "Shared Use Path to be provided over the motorway and South Road".

Just looks like they dont have plans for it yet.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

3/3 lane tunnels seem to work in other cities with far larger populations, why wouldn't it work here? Because they probably have many more highways / freeways that they can jump on and off onto. The N/S is the main corridor for SA. Yes there is the SE freeway and main north road and what not... but...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I disagree. The less we see of this motorway, the better. In an ideal world, it woudl be great to have all tunnels and major roads invisible to local surroundings. However, the problem I have with tunnels, is future expansion. With Torrens to Torrens. Regency to Pym. Darlington. Northern Connector....

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

What other route is there? Besides the bend at the brickworks, its a straight line...why would they deviate? To get less backlash from the local community. The hard thing about this road is that it is not meant for the locals. It is meant for the wider adelaide population, trucking and delivery rou...
