Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Except the MAB proposal wasn't really all that dense given the amount of land being put over to more unnecessary retail and a questionable hotel No, the area definitely needs retail (that isn't within Plant 4). There's way too many things you have to unfortunately jump in a car and drive elsewhere ...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

What I don't get is there's plenty of space to kick a footy — you don't need a full size oval unless you're playing a full 18 per side game. Josiah Mitton Reserve, Tarband Avenue Reserve, Albert Greenshields Reserve, and Thomas Harkness Reserve have sufficient room. Even somewhere like Emu Park has...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

Well Marshall did propose a $600 million "basketball stadium", but the ppl voted. Can't see anything better getting floated in the next 3 and a bit years :| Yeh well, there was also the vision for this stadium to be completely redeveloped, but you know, Mr Marshall didn't like that idea, ...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy

This, the inquiry into the MAB decision at former gasworks and the blocking of Westfield's push for paid parking at Tea Tree Plaza are all dangerous examples of this Govts attitude that private contracts can be torn up on a whim. It sends a very poor message for would-be private organisations or in...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Strongly agree that the constant political posturing of both sides has created the poorly utilised mess that is Adelaide transport both road and rail. And both sides have been at it for around 50 years. But why are we even discussing busses from Happy Valley clogging up the motorway and Anzac highw...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling

I had noticed that, but haven't been able to find much info about it despite it supposed to have being started nearly 2 months ago. My guess it's just widening the footpath along here and spray painting some bike symbols occasionally, which would not be ideal. Going south along Frome Rd is awful wi...

Re: PRO: Marion Road Level Crossing Removal Project | $200m

This project won't really benefit tram users in the short or long-term. It's not meant to, it's entirely about benefitting car drivers, same as every Liberal intersection, level crossing, or "public transport" upgrade. Any benefit to public transport is accidental. It's not going to matter...

Re: #Official Defence Thread

You actually think they're moving the Wedgetails here because of floods? Why aren't they moving the Hornets and F35's here then? Or the majority of all assets for that matter. Brother, if the wedgetails are not being moved due to flooding concerns, then why are they being re-located? Edinburgh is t...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

The render is also deliberately overselling how much green will actually be there, we all know just how little of the plants grown on buildings will actually happen, nor will many of the large trees lining those buildings actually be planted.

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

I want to see the other proposals for the Gasworks site, because the winner is just about bereft of green space, I don't see how the additional retail and the hotel remotely fit in with any plan other than the one to help make Rob Lucas' post parliamentary life even more lucrative. It's a decision t...
