Bikeways, plural? ACC can’t even figure out where to build an east-west bikeway, let alone second north-south one!

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
The transformation of Parramatta into Sydney’s second CBD isn’t killing the old CBD, it’s creating a new economic and business hub.
Not all business necessarily has to be centred on the traditional CBD.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
To me, the bigger questions are why we would want commuter rail from these extreme outer suburbs and county towns to feed in to Adelaide City. If it's available, the "induced demand" argument will fill these outer suburbs with people intending to commute to Adelaide, then complaining abou...

The above is only a link to their FB page. Nothing directly related to progress of the spur line development. Views are a privilege and not a right. if you pay good money for a beachfront property, then the government decides to close the beach, that's the equivalence we're dealing with here Bit more like if you paid good money for a modern 2-storey luxury house just behind a small 1-storey beachfront shac...

The owner of 2KW has come out against the new tower because it’ll block the view from their rooftop bar.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Demolition for the Marion/Cross Road overpasses is continuing, with the old service station on the corner of Marion/Cross being knocked down this afternoon. A number of houses to the North of the tram between Marion/Cross have been fenced off Why would that site need demolishing ? They’re adding de...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
If the government isn’t prepared to commit to a proper extension to Roseworthy, even trialling a diesel service between Gawler and Roseworthy would be a great first step as more houses are completed. Do enough trackworks to get them running at a fair speed on single track, timetable them to sync wi...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Someday, a train trial to Two Wells with feeder buses linking Riverlea, a station at Virginia, and Angle Vale would be a nice wishlist as well, but a logistical nightmare due to track gauge and ownership. I’ve seen this mentioned before and I have to ask, how do you get rail into Angle Vale? You do...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
I'm curious - what do people see as the purpose of bringing back rail services to Roseworthy and the Barossa Valley? Is it so that those areas can lose their "country charm" and become more sprawling suburbs full of detached housing for people who commute further to the Adelaide CBD? Is i...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
I hope Gather Round in Lyndoch helps to make an issue of rail infrastructure in SA. This could form some important commentary if it's kept in the public conscience, and could time well for the next State Election if there is enough momentum. Agreed. Amidst all the tall promises of rail to Mount Bar...
