Some pictures from Saturday 4/12/212- looking from west to east.
Real shame about the lack of future proofing for double stacked freight trains, with how low this bridge will be and limited options to lower the tracks through this section

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Every time someone complains about bike lanes. They could make an entire road a bike lane and some people still wouldn't be happy. And we all know many of the cyclists still wouldn't be able to stay within the marked bike lane. In all honesty who gives a shit about how big the bike lanes are. There...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Genuinely awful blindingly wasteful use of space, The lowered section through the inner west looks like it'll be far worse T2T, maintaining connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians is obviously not a priority, the detours will be annoying as is the unnecessary slip lanes everywhere. The shared use ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Undoubtedly very hard to run a heritage services along Jetty Rd given the frequency of the trams, even on weekends. As the trams already run every 10 minutes outside peak 7 days a week it makes it very hard to slot an additional tram service in that only uses three stops. The biggest problem is the ...

Re: Flinders University - Developments & News

Is this the project that’s being built right next to the Flinders Railway Station?

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling

These projects are beyond disappointing for $10 million. While none are necessarily bad these should all except 1 should be very low priority projects. The extra ped crossings are nice, but shouldn't be coming out of 'cycling' funding, the new shared used paths in the east are nice, but close to bei...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Adelaide Metro have done essentially a blog post about their current 'green transport' initiatives, most importantly from this is the new EMU sets will enter service in early 2022 and half the 3000 class fleet will be retired/mothballed as a result leaving only 45 trains equipped with hybrid energy ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Gauge conversion of rail lines in Adelaide has been long dead and is never going to occur, it's been off the table since the tram-trains to the north-west were put on hold. Standardisation of the rail network was completely built around that and as it's gone there are zero benefits to conversion in ...

Re: News & Discussion: Cycling

State Government has announced some increased funding for cycling in the CBD and the suburbs. $3.2 million for 34 different cycle projects around the state, hopefully going to be good https://www.premier.sa.gov.au/news/media-releases/news/pedaling-ahead-with-record-spending-on-local-cycle-projects?f...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

The point I suppose that Golden Road upgrade stage 2 has a very limited scope, the entire point of the project is to add bus jump lanes, not spend 10s of millions on intersection realignment. It's primarily to increase the reliability and speed of the J1, J2, 548 and the G40, although I would hope t...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

Worth noting that various designs for the Golden Grove upgrade 2 have been put up on DIT's Facebook, good to see bus jump lanes as part of the upgrade, which at least can't hurt https://www.facebook.com/DFITSA/posts/194322642722483 https://scontent.fadl6-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/229671615_1943223...

The O-Bahn is closed every now and again for maintenance, I've caught it several times in the past week and it is operating as normal at normal route speeds :D

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

As the tunnel is going underneath crossroad/south road intersection I'm wondering how much is going to be done to that part. That overpass being 40 years old doesn't exactly make it life expired, but we're not going to lose anything by demolishing it, but it also has to be within the scope the NCS t...
