I am surprised they have just painted it all white. Considering also it is heritage listed, I would have thought they would have been required to re-point it and highlight the original bluestone etc. Agreed. The airport is already proposing connections to these roads for rideshare and freight vehicles without the need for tunnels. It's unclear to me what benefit general access would deliver for the cost. I think a problem with that median setup is that it leaves less space for footpaths and overtaking lanes for buses when the goal should be to make it a more pleasant environment for pedestrians and a faster corridor for public transport.
