Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

It's looking at the problem the wrong way. Grenfell street is a major commuter road where buses and cars compete. Rather than expensive tunneling, it would be far cheaper to make Grenfell and Currie street's more bus focused. Completely removing cars from those street's isn't really practical due t...

Notice it says 39 levels, not 35. Slight height increase or shorter levels?

This development has tranformed Perth imo. Adelaide has no idea of the massive missed opportunity the riverbank has been.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Perths development is more akin to Darling Harbor in Sydney.

There's absolutely no way that anyone would pay the high premium on the cost of the land for the brewery site for a training oval.

Just a thought - I hope there's some provision in this project to include a prospective underground railway station.
I thought the bump was going to be some news!

I reckon if any underground railway station was to happen in this area it would be beneath Victoria Square anyway.

Continue to be surprised and impressed by our state Liberal government being so much better on energy than their federal colleagues.

Re: Did the forum change?

Hey guys, posted this earlier on The Pub forum but just to let you know this new Google Adsense feature called Auto-Ads has a mind of its own. It basically decides where and to whom ads are showing using an AI algorithm, so for some people if you’ve already been hit by a tonne of ads it turns it of...

Re: Moving the airport to a less populated area

Adelaide already has a second airport capable of handling big jets, RAAF Edinburgh. It's underused by the air force, it could handle far more jets. They could build a civilian terminal there and lease it to airlines. This is what happens at Newcastle, Darwin and Townsville. RAAF Edinburgh is alread...

[U/C] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | 55m | 12 Levels | Hotel

Adelaides casino from it's inception was always meant to be a smaller more boutique style,European if you like, as opposed to its eastern counterparts. If the likes of Darwin, Alice Springs or evenPerth have gone down the resort path, it's because they exist as more standalone venues-destinations i...

[U/C] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | 55m | 12 Levels | Hotel

Let's be clear. Skycity has taken a big gamble (pardon the pun) on this project. I mean c'mon, even Darwin Casino has higher revenue than this place. Lets support it by taking the better half for a night out in what is definitely the best high end hotel in the city. If I'm going out for the evening...

Someone proposes something unique and that would become an iconic structure and major draw card, and they cry and scream they don't want it. But they'll then be the first to complain that not enough South Aussies visit their region or that government should do more to support local tourism and busi...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

CDJ kept on dropping hints that it was still being worked on, but given the years since we heard anything and the fact that the companies website is dead I think it's safe to say it's never gonna happen. Would still love to see what the plans were though.
