[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Looking at that shot there is an extra core pit towards the left hand side of the shot, presumably for the carpark, looks too small for a second tower.

I agree, this looks like it's going to be a stunner.

Notice the slight change in floor plates too with the angled indent. I didn't realise that would be the case.

From today. It keeps getting better and better. Once complete with a full clean it'll be amazing.

Deserved to have another 40 levels on it!

It actually looks quite striking. I also believe the void floors will also have some feature lighting too.

There’s some new gold mesh cladding on the western side of the tower’s roof feature. Only a small amount so far but it looks as though it could be quite striking.

That’s not really a great location for office space. But superb for apartments. Please explain why not a good location for office space? Not a prime location if you were going to build 18 levels of office space. I know offices exist in the southern part of KW St, I’m just saying it’s not the best. ...

I have heard that the hotel component here is intended to be a W hotel.

There is still a lot of work going on this tower, despite the Christmas/New Year shut down across other sites. More of the exposed concrete floor levels are being painted white, this time on the eastern side of the tower. Also the roof structure is being added, increasing the overall height even fur...

I noticed tonight that the western side of the tower has had some of the exposed floors concrete painted white. It actually looks quite good and adds much needed contrast. I’m assuming all floors will get the same treatment.

There may be a slight glimmer of hope yet.

It will be interesting to see the facade once the internal window treatments/curtains are added. It they are a darker colour, they should blend in somewhat. If they're white, we could end up with a more clutter, chaotic appearance, which may actually help here.

This is a case of a very simple design with no architectural merit being further let down by poor facade treatment. Had this had a higher reflective continuous facade, rather than the exposed concrete floor breaks it would be better. Dare I say it, this development needs the student tower next door....

Is that a base for a crane?
I doubt it. Typically the bases are connected by sunk anchors using pile. As mentioned above, a delivery zone could be the explanation.

Trying to stay optimistic. Really wish it was the Twin St one though. People are just setting the bar low and hoping to be surprised in the opposite direction for a change, rather than next door's glossy render that turned out being the hottest thing out of 1960s Bucharest Agreed. At least there is...
