Re: News & Discussion: Trams
The North Tce extension is a total unmitigated disaster in my book. It takes a lane away from North Tce in each direction, where the existing lights were already poorly sequenced and turned it into a crawl at the best of times. It doesn't take a lane away. Lanes are still there, cars just aren't be...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
The other relevant issue is Marshall has backed himself into a corner with his pre-election pledge for a right-hand North Tce turn. Does the forum think he will go ahead & rip up our main intersection and/or spend anywhere near the $37m quoted? I expect it to come up, but not to be done. It wil...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
I find it fascinating that so many South Australians object to buying their fuel from a South Australian family-owned company (OTR) and would rather buy from national public company supermarket chains (Coles and Woolworths). I notice another South Australian family supermarket company (Drakes) has ...

Re: Should Adelaide bid for a theme park...'a la' Disneyland etc.
The number of annual visitors even to Dreamworld is higher than SA's entire population. We simply don't have the population or tourist base here for a major theme park. What came first, the tourist base or the theme parks? and I think you'll find that number includes locals going multiple times a y...

Move them to the large empty lot on Days Road just behind the Bridgestone center on the corner of Days/Regency. Use it as a catalyst to move out the industrial sites in that immediate area and redevelop it into housing, as well as the crappy shops across the road. That entire intersection is a majo...

[VIS] Re: interstate passenger trains back to the Adel Railway Station
Having the Overland return to Adelaide Station isn't that hard, using platform 9 and possible extension or build new Interstate and Regional Rail Terminal west of the existing station opposite the cheese grater, which I've read has allowances for such a building. Long term I would hope we will see ...

BIG/JPE is the best of the bunch, but I also feel like it might be a bit underwhelming from ground level. That first shot from the air looks amazing but hardly anyone will ever actually get that view.

So I've read through the DA document, and the renders shown before were massing renders, not textural. Whilst I don't agree with the mass or shape of the design, the materials in the document look to be of extremely high quality (double glazed, double tinted highly reflective champagne glass, for e...

I took this photo back in March and forgot to upload it. I really think the angle gives an unusual view of these new CBD buildingsIMG_20180315_123609~4.jpeg Sent from my TA-1020 using Tapatalk If that area over the train lines ever does get covered over it really would be a great public space frame...

How long before a proposal emerges how they will do it? Does the forum expect a continuous underpass for $1.4b? The big question is property resumptions.. will they try to replicate the same path as the current T2T and take out/widen the Western side of South Rd? Any heritage/problem buildings? So ...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Contemporary Art Gallery
I'm really disappointed with the Marshall government on this one (and I voted Liberal). Firstly, they didn't do their homework in being aware of the more advanced NT government proposal. The Marshall government proposal is nothing more than a thought bubble at this stage. I too am disappointed when...
