[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

I support the Indigenous cultures building. This is more likely to put Adelaide on the map for interstate and overseas visitors than another contemporary art gallery. A building which tells the story of our indigenous people, an honest warts-and-all storytelling of their history. I’ve been to the At...

Big gamble. Aside from Services Australia, who else is a big name tenant looking for more space in the CBD? A few I can think of are Westpac/Bank SA Viva Energy relocating HO to Adelaide. Around 9000 positions. SA govt put out a tender recently for around 20,000sqm Viva Energy do not have 9000 posi...

I can’t see an AMOSAH museum taking up 5 double-height levels of a building. That’s enormous. Especially for a museum the SA government haven’t even committed to.

Could there be a possibility of Walker wanting to do a land swap and they build Festival Tower 2 to the north of the existing tower and the plaza space extended to the back of Parliament House instead.
I doubt it as it will block the best view out of Tower 1.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

cross town bus services feeding to fewer stations, rather than radial bus services to the city would suit the RAA down to the ground. Lots of transfers from bus to fast rail are efficient. But try getting Adelaide PT users to accept transfers. :hilarious: If the transfers are quick, easy and sensib...

If the website image is close to the final design, I will be extremely disappointed.
With such a prominent site, and multiple functional uses within the building, there is ENORMOUS scope to design something much more interesting, even keeping the basic concept of a glass box.

https://indaily.com.au/news/2022/12/06/adelaide-diesel-trains-approaching-end-of-the-line/ Few thoughts: The preliminary target of a fully electric bus fleet by 2050 is not nearly amitious enough. I hope the final business case targets within 10-15 years. I would love to see O-Bahn routes fully con...

I was always of the belief that this site should have had a taller tower, but with a slimmer profile when viewed from the northern (plaza) side. Those photos showing the obvious bulk of the tower when viewed from the north just reinforce my opinion.

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

If you look at Google/Apple Maps, there is land set aside for a second runway at Adelaide Airport, approx 1.2km north-west of the current main runway. The flight path for this would take it approx over the Entertainment Centre at Hindmarsh. If there was ever a constraint on taller buildings in the C...

So they don’t even have a site now. It’s gonna be another decade before this gets built! Who else think the former Aust Post site on Grote St is a good location? Good access from West Tce and Sir Donald Bradman Dr, and can be a catalyst for an extended tram loop down West Tce back to Vic Square. I k...

V2_Final.jpg What an impact! I hope they find anchor tenants quickly so this can get started. I’m rather disappointed. The twin tower concept and height are fine, but given the prominence of the site would like to see a bit more flourish in the design. Eg more curves or angles on the corners and a ...

Sod turning ceremony today. Apparently $110m worth of apartments have been sold. Basement/car park/foundation work to take 12 months and buildings expected to rise out of the ground this time next year.
30 years in the making, it’s finally happening!

My opinion is it needs a permanent video screen there for major events a place where people can meet and watch big events live
Agree with that. Might sound a bit like sacrilege, but mounting a video screen on the Festival Theatre where that big “Adelaide Festival” banner is would work well.
