[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I would assume that the whole continuation will end up being called the North-South Motorway... they even have started putting signs up that say it -- https://www.google.com/maps/@-34.8750976,138.5696467,3a,21.6y,74.98h,90.83t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1s9svHKpxSJLdVdKFJA0aR2Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

Not sure if anyone noticed in the video fly through also, the ITS signs say 80km/h. 90km/h on the superway, down to 80km/h? Yes, Torrens to Torrens and this new section will be 80km/h. What's the reasoning behind this? Surely it can't be safety...90km/h on a bridge...but 80km/h on a surface road an...

6-8 floors is fine for Aldinga apparently, but 12 floors is 'too tall' for the middle of the city? :sly:

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

The slow work is annoying for the finishing touches after how quickly tracks went in, but i'm sure it wont be long and trams will be running. At least it isn't the complete fiasco Sydney has been putting up with since 2014, still nowhere near finished, and it will be over-crowded from opening day. :...

This simply is out of total scale for the location and Adelaide as a whole...
..This is a real shame I say.
Meanwhile the city's new tallest is getting built a block away. How is it out of scale when it is so close to a building more than twice its height?

New renders including Adelaidean. https://i.imgur.com/nUE2CDC.jpg Imagine Realm in the background there as well. Should look sensational when all 3 are built, will be great to see more 100m+ buildings on the Adelaide skyline. :applause: Also interesting to if the hospital clinic site next to Budget...

Pisoni might, and it will probs be a very low key thing.

I'm thinking this will be the last tram extension for a while, this new state govt has much more important projects to work on like an expansion to the National Wine Centre, and duplication of the Hindmarsh Island Bridge.

On the topic of where next for the trams.. I'm guessing an election announcement of a Norwood tram along The Parade, maybe built in 2 stages: stage 1 to Kent Town and stage 2 to Norwood Town Hall. Norwood is a marginal and the State Opposition leader's own electorate.
Called it

in those latest pictures it looks suspiciously like a Right hand turn curve from KWS to North Tce. They aren't sneaking one in to guzzump the whingers are they? I think that's just for the single track to allow Westbound trams on North Tce to turn left/South onto KWS, there's probably not go...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

It's pretty silly how the gates are only used when there are staff at the station to manually check tickets after people have gone through, they do that in the city regularly and it's really quite unusual, they have something like 40 Adelaide Metro people holding ticket readers and 2 security/SAPOL ...

.....and some people question the need for grade separation!!! Cant grade sep every crossing, and even in places with hardly any level crossings, some elderly Camry driver will still manage to find a way to crash through the fencing and onto the tracks. Wyong, NSW http://www.dailymail.co.uk/...
