Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Also, there looks like enough room to put in triple or quadruple track from South Rd to Ascot Park, which might help with scheduling problems caused by having one line express and the other not. No need to quadruple the track......just be smart about the timetable. The Flinders all stops train take...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
Speaking of improvements. How about some new park n rides? Possible sites Park and rides should only be built on the edges of the network. For Adelaide, the two best locations are near the ends of the Seaford and Gawler lines. There's already a big park and ride at Seaford Meadows, does it regularl...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Something I think should be done once the Flinders Line opens, create two lines. Flinders Line would be all stops from Adelaide Railway Station and Seaford would be Adelaide Showground (make this the interchange for the Belair line), Woodlands Park and the Seaford line would start here. Flinders Li...

Seating being reduced. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200612/c8780b3aec1ce4a463837b91b71d5fe4.jpg Wouldn't the reduction in seats just mean more people need to stand up making them stand in closer proximity to eachother? I don't understand what difference removing seats will make? Most people w...

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link
How frequent is the Flinders line going to run? I would think every 15min in peak if they want Uni students / medical workers to use it and the people from the 12 x G2X buses an hour. The single section of track is only 2.5km, it starts just north of Mitchell Park Station. Looking at old timetables...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
The interpeak fare should be much lower than the peak to encourage a flatter peak. Australian cities have very narrow peak periods, much worse than cities in other countries. This is a problem because it makes it hard to organise shifts for transport workers and we need larger vehicles than with a f...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Transport Projects
Concept plans for an upgrade of the intersection of Port Road/Cheltenham Parade-West Lakes Boulevard have been released. Some welcome improvements, but the bigger issues remain. https://i.imgur.com/6Bs6HXi.jpg There's stupidly still that little middle bit right in the centre. The Port Road medians ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
15 stops on the Glenelg line as opposed to 11 on the OH line to Port Adelaide...so yes it will take longer, but given the 4x extra stops, it is remarkably close in running time. Once again, if a CBD tunnel is constructed to accomodate the OH train, then it does weigh in heavy rails favour. Any idea...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Pedestrian access is still a problem for many stations in Adelaide. This discussion about North Adelaide is one example. The thing is, it's very inexpensive to solve compared to other infrastructure projects. There are plans to remove level crossings from Adelaide, but few talk about grade separatio...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Here's a radical idea to make people shift to trains: make it free. It may save the government money since they will be spending less on building and maintaining roads. Plus no need to enforce fares, no need to have fare terminals in trains. I think the Gawler Line will see many of the benefits elec...

Re: New Madrid Style Food Market on East End
This is a really interesting idea, if not at Electranet, there are other buildings that could be re-purposed. I think if it was a late night food venue, it would be a great addition to the East End. Central Market could be the main market during the day and East End the main market in the evening.

YouTube tags not working
I've followed the advice in this thread and the tags don't work: https://www.sensational-adelaide.com/fo ... hp?p=65703 The video doesn't embed in the post. For example,
