Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

It doesn't look like a road and that confuses pedestrians who step out in front of cars. Either cars should be banned or it should be made to look more road-like. The whole idea is to blur the distinction between the roadway and footpaths to naturally slow traffic. https://usa.streetsblog.org/2016/...

[PRO] Re: Westfield Marion (2019/20 Extension)

I have no idea about the origin of Arndale. But perhaps it could be renamed Westfield Croydon to match up with the inaccuracy further south. The J8 service is the only connection to the Arndale precinct. It's actually got a vaguely interesting history - being the first covered shopping centre in Au...

It's not so much the lack of grass which annoys me (although it would look 100% better with it) - it's the cheap compacted gravel treatment which just ends up looking like a weedy mess for all eternity. Such a cop out.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Here's hoping that areas like the James Congden and Richmond Road section aren't just giant areas of grey. Those vegetated areas are usually the first to get downgraded to expanses of gravel or bare paving. That's what I was thinking and I really don't hold out very much hope at all. T2T is current...

It's interesting how the animations have been put together for political purposes. The Anzac Highway animation shows the cars stopped on both the now removed off-ramp to Anzac Highway and along Anzac Highway itself. And in the still images the grass is greener and the sky is bluer in the 'after' ve...

Annual reports are freely available online. I think COVID has presented some challenges but I don't think you'll find anything to suggest any of the state's unis are in serious trouble.

UoA (for some reason) still holds greater international and domestic prestige over the other two, in spite of their lagging with the times. Rankings are weighted toward volume of journal publications and citations Significant proportions of an institution's score in two of the major rankings scheme...

Re: University of South Australia | Developments & News

Don't forget UofA also has Roseworthy and Waite, and UniSA is in Whyalla and Mt Gambier. In terms of the city campuses it would be logical enough to consolidate disciplines east or west (e.g. Medical/Health to West). Either way they will need new buildings, depending on decisions about teaching del...

It depends how it's done - one of the previous companies I worked for employed hot desking but it was very flexible in regards to the variety of work spaces available. For example on any given day (or part thereof) you could choose to work from a anywhere in the office, at a desk, in the cafe area, ...

It wasn't really much to do with the building itself, more the tax and stamp duty paid on it when it was bought. Overall it's probably good news in terms of attracting new investments in the future.
