Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

I'm all in favour of the state government taking over for decisions in the parklands, if the state government will also be responsible for funding the parklands as they need/deserve. Because they have made so many good decisions about parklands use recently - Botanic High new building, New Woman's ...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Adelaide Comets' application for a 1.1m high fence has been voted down 5-4 by Council. Discussion to continue. I can see both sides of the debate, but the decision sadly keeps National Premier League games away from the CBD. Article: https://www.indaily.com.au/news/adelaide/2024/02/14/park-lands-soc...

Uniqlo Marion "opening Autumn" confirmed on their FB. Good result for Adelaide to have two stores now, the city store is always busy anytime I'm there, and I hope do well at Marion.
Based on the popularity of their Rundle Mall store, hopefully the Marion footprint is larger.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The only positive I can find about the facade change is that it lets in more natural light for tenancies facing the Mall. I give it a week before they're smashed in or spray painted over.

Don't quote me on this, but I overheard someone say that the site was too small for Costco's liking.

Also, imagine failing so hard at the planning of this project that a rail station isn't even considered as part of it. Agreed. Both a tram stop near the main entrance and a railway station to the immediate north of the Port Road bridge would ensure that the entirety of ‘BioMed City’ is easily acces...
