I reckon 15 - 20 years. That way we can make sure that all the NIMBY's are either gone or too old to put up a fight, and we can do a complete riverside rebuildserca wrote:I would rather they put this to bed for the next say 5 - 10 years than rush into it and we end up with a half assed thoroughfare

[COM] Re: PRO: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b
Does the Northern Connector going ahead mean that freight can be removed from the Belair line? I recall that Unley councillors during their quest to reopen Millswood Station were also rallying the government to remove freight from that corridor so Belair could be duplicated for metro rail again. Ap...

I wonder if there will be both standard gauge & broad gauge lines between Penfield & Cavan... I'd like to be able to take a train to Waterloo Corner, then cycle all the way down to the St Kilda Adventure Playground and Tramway Museum. A train station that services st kilda playground would ...

If the Northern Connector was built, maybe rezone Buckland Park?

Re: Glenelg dock
I don't think it would be that viable to just take a ferry down the coast, it'd probably be just as quick to drive especially when the north-south corridor is finished. Besides a ferry from Glenelg to KI, a Glenelg-Edithburgh and Glenelg-Androssan and a service to Port Lincoln would be better. Geog...

I dont know, I was just curious about the train speed too be honest. I guess it could serve as an alternative to development on the salt pansWill wrote:Why?
I'm not having a go at you, but I fail to see the raison d'etre of this satellite city.

Establish a new satalite city on the Copper Coast
So we're talking Wallaroo, Kadina and Moonta here. Between the 3 of these towns there's almost already 11,000 people up there. It's not particularly far away from Adelaide and if we established a rail line that used Victorian V/line trains at 160kp/h the trip would be around an hour, which is an acc...

[REJ] Re: Hackey Sanitarium Site Redevelopment
After the original plan for redevelopment of the ex-Sanitarium site was heavily criticized by some local residents and rejected by Council, it looks set to be approved after a period of community consultation and a modified plan. Changes include 42 townhouses reduced to 37, realignment of aspect fo...

Are you sure? I mean, that land would be shit to place houses on. They'd end out sinking, surely? I can't imagine the land could be terraformed easily. Too much salt in the ground. Maybe we could just invest billions of dollars into it and turn it into an Olympics site and then bid for that? :P Wel...

Despite differences still remaining between the state and federal government over freight tolling, this project appears to be inching closer to reality. http://indaily.com.au/news/2015/08/06/toll-the-key-to-northern-connector-start/ Hopefully when it does get the nod, it will be a full length singl...

Oh, you have me all wrong. I too would love to see horse racing back in the city, it'd make events such as the Adelaide Cup all the more important in this city's calendar. My thoughts of bringing Adelaide United matches to Victoria Park was merely an idea because I find it hard to see horse racing ...
