Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
Gawler Place's rent is still ridiculously abnormal. Here, Oroton just shut up shop last week. Disappointing for what is a glorified driveway to a carpark. That carpark needs to be binned to allow for better land uses and therefore more foot traffic, and maybe it'll be more attractive. I suggest rep...

Looks like it.timtam20292 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 2:39 amIs the carpet being ripped up? I will certainly miss it if that’s the case.
Always found it odd they would carpet any part of the main mall, and then just have one random part of the mall carpeted. Can imagine it would be a nightmare to maintain.

[PRO] Re: Playford Ice Arena
The Ice Arena proposal being near SA Aquatic Centre, the Athletics Stadium and Netball Stadium will be ideal for a big event like the Commonwealth Games. Except there are no ice events in the Commonwealth Games. Yes I am aware of there is no ice events but I am sure in this modern age the Ice Arena...

The same mob behind the Playford Ice Arena are now trying their hand at a location at Marion. Time will tell if it will actually get off the ground, though this one will be the new home of the Adrenaline (after Ice Arena management opted to submit a team into a rebel ice hockey comp at the Adrenali...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Looks like there was an issue at Kings Rd this morning, with the gates stuck down for a lot longer than they should've.
In the middle of peak hour too.

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
My opinion is it needs a permanent video screen there for major events a place where people can meet and watch big events live Agree with that. Might sound a bit like sacrilege, but mounting a video screen on the Festival Theatre where that big “Adelaide Festival” banner is would work well. I recko...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
I heard that uniclo was taking pretty much the entire “lush” side of the myer centre including that sides main entrance into the center plus the rebel upstairs Given Rebel are building a new store in the mall this would be pretty plausible, and would make the store size in line with other Uni Qlo s...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
If it's like other Uniqlo stores in Perth and Brisbane, I suspect this will occupy part of two levels, and they will cut out part of the ground floor slab to put in escalators between ground and lower ground. Yes, this is my suspicion. Though it could just as easily go up if Rebel consolidates as e...

A lot of the ceash barriers on the off ramps seem to be damaged, even the Superway off ramp to Grand Junction Road has been impacted. When will any of it be fixed? Noticed the one at the beginning of Southern Expressway (Tonsley) has recently been fixed in the last few weeks after being damaged for...

One minute Wingard is saying Labor is pulling stories out of their backsides about delays.
Next minute he's confirming the exact same delays.
He really should've stuck to hosting d-grade football shows at Channel 10

Went to the tennis Friday night and sat in the new northern stand. Besides the two great matches, the stand itself is a massive improvement on the old stand. You feel like you're right on top of the action, and it's great to have bathroom facilities that are accessible all the time (unlike the old o...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
There seems to be quite a lag on maintenance work on the M2 of late: - Some resurfacing works were done about 2-3 months ago on a couple of lanes on the R2P section, resulting in this section being reduced to 60. Surely the time for the new surface to settle has been long enough for this section to...
