[COM] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | $300m
would be great if the new Walker office building could take some design cues from the curved casino building, to give a more complementary look to the development.

FYI the ridiculous ramps are required to ensure wheelchair access....there are strict standards regarding grades and lengths - cant get out of that one unless you install lifts. It's also worth pointing out the ridiculous access to the pedestrian/cycle bridges. It's like they don't really want peopl...

Shuz, this is a fairly standard process for most major construction contracts (not only government). Client gets the design to a fairly advanced level (anywhere from 50% to 90%), gets funding approval from Cabinet, then goes to market for the remainder of the detailed design and the construction of ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
Land acquisition is not holding anything up. Tendering for the road contract has been ongoing for the past 6 months, with the final 2 proponents finalising their designs and costs, and DPTI evaluating them. The word is that the successful proponent will be notified today or early next week, with con...

Not wanting to sound like your mum, but seriously boys stop your arguing. You're not doing yourselves any favours and only damaging your own credibility. I am assuming you are both adults, so lets stop fighting and focus on something vaguely related to development. I don't want to get drawn into a s...

Re: Beer Garden
Claybro, you make a good point about bringing residential component to that part of Perth. I would love to see some sort of residential offering as part of the Riverbank plan. Not sure how or where - that would be up to someone with more planning knowledge than I. But a residential component would a...

Main contract is in tendering phase. Design will be finalised following award of tender, around middle of the year.
Plan most definitely will be released to public, as part of DPTI's ongoing commitment to stakeholder involvement.

Westside, I'm lucky enough to be working on both T2T and Ashwin Parade intersection upgrade. They are separate projects, under an overall North-South Corridor program of works. Which means they are funded separately, managed separately and contracted separately, however they are both designed to int...

You would be exactly right. DPTI will be starting tender negotiations with interested parties soon, so they are not able to say anything regarding $$$$ for fear of compromising the negotiations (who is to say you were not working for one of the interested parties  ) Additionally, the main cont...

A bobcat will be required to move dirt, but it wont do the digging. Would need a large excavator, probably 25 tonne to be able to dig to the depth required. They don't come cheap, and you pay for them to sit there on the site whether it is working or not. Apart from construction costs, there are ind...

The excavation around the root ball of such a significantly sized tree will be very large, not to mention the size of the excavation in the new location. Then there is the cost of disposal of all the fill, cost of clean backfill for the new site, cost of a crane to move the tree, cost of arborist, i...

I saw this ad last night and was quite impressed with it. The slightly off-beat, suggestive nature of the ad captures your interest and incites a feeling of curiosity. I like the fact that initially it is unclear what the ad is for - it certainly suggested to me that Adelaide is a place to explore a...

I wouldn't be too worried about the pressure of the water. If it only jets to 1.5m high, then it is at a pressure of approximately 1.5m head or 15kPa.
Your mains water at home is under minimum pressure of 20m (usually closer to 30m) of head.
It is most definitely not "high pressure"!
