[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

Go for a walk on a hot summer evening to the nearest train stations. See how convenient it is. The tram stop isn't that much closer. Both are in reality a little out of the way. They aren't built to service Coopers stadium. Mate, I've probably done that walk 100 times attending Reds games over the ...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

I think you could argue the Entertainment Centre has as good or better public transport connections than Adelaide Oval -- it's physically closer to both the tramline and railway as well as key bus routes. I am not sure if your comment is sarcasm or if you are serious? If serious, what are you smoki...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I was under the impression that the southern tunnel will finish just south of the tram line which means it will continue past cross road unless I interpreted it incorrectly. Yeah that's right, although the FAQ on the DPTI website talks about them still deciding where the tunnel will have exits and ...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I'm trying to place that render of the tunnel portal. Does anybody have any ideas on the location? It's just after Ayliffes Road with the old Mitsubishi plant to the left. Looks like they will take some of the land near The Crescent for widening, which may not be good news for Adrian Brien. That ce...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

will the tram overpass need to be modified because of the width of the motorway? will the gallipoli underpass need to be widened? it appears as if the gallipoli underpass will be extended south so it goes under where the current tram line sits. these were the first two questions that came to mind a...

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link

Is there any need for Seaford to stop at Showgrounds, even at showtime? It's not much of a walk to the south entry from Goodwood. That was the whole point of building the Showground station. :wallbash: Nobody will want to walk 5-10 minutes from Goodwood when there’s a perfectly good station that wa...

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link

Unless upgrades or additional tracks are created between Woodlands Park and Goodwood, I think the proposed stopping pattern is a fair compromise given the lack of overtaking tracks. Making Flinders stop all stations and Seaford express would likely result in the express services being stuck behind ...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

As much as I love the design of the stadium and precinct as a whole, I would prefer the stadium be built at a lower cost to cater for soccer, rugby, and large concerts, and then use some of left over money to build an indoor arena on the Memorial Drive site for tennis, netball, and basketball. Yeah...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Seems a bit more sensible to pick what's right for each stretch rather than just one long tunnel. Be interesting to see what the Cross Road interchange ends up looking like / what they do with that.

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

It does make me wonder if now that Victoria is building standard gauge vlocity trains they have at least half a mind to run one along the overland route one day and hence are keeping it going while they work that out. At least to Horsham or something.

[COM] Re: Flinders Rail Link

Have they allowed for a second track (if need be) to be added on the section of the bridge allocated to the bike path? Based on the steel work I'd have said yes, but it doesn't look wide enough and they you'd lose the track, obviously. If not, I can see this being an expensive oversight, especially...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

No bike lanes and the lanes themselves are so tight, with no provision for any room if someone broke down etc. This is especially disappointing considering significant amount of traffic (inc Ambulances / Police) that still use that portion of road to go to Flinders Hospital / Uni, Sturt Police Stat...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The underground line (and above ground section) is actually a loop, Adelaide Showground to Adelaide Showground via the underground stations and Mile End. But the underground city line, will be mainly used to connect the Seaford and Gawler lines, it can be used to loop Gawler to Gawler and Seaford t...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Surely the biggest factor that would increase usage would be building a CBD underground... if they're planning to do that in the next 30 years and planning to include links for the OH and Belair lines, then converting them to trams doesn't make any sense....

[COM] Re: [COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

What logic? T2T there's an on ramp heading north off Port Road, and an off ramp heading south there as well. Cant get off heading north, cant get on heading south. Port Road is one of the major arterials, so is Salisbury Hwy. Similar situation at Grand Junction Road. Three major arterial roads, and...
