[PRO] Re: 188 Grenfell Street | 64m | 19 Levels | Student Accom

The Cranker is also an important venue for bands starting off. No one goes from practicing in a garage to selling out shows at Thebarton Theatre, or even The Gov or Lion Arts. The types of venues with suitable size stages and an audience for starting artists has diminished to a very small number an...

lol none So everybody is free to decide on what's important to them, or just you? So the owner of the building is free to decide what they will do with the building and land they own, or is it up to you and those who protested? I've got more productive things to do I suspect that's probably not tru...

Re: Forum Etiquette

I, along with many others are over the insulting behaviour across the board. I will continue to call this out. I believe this is a forum for people with a genuine interest in this city and state including industry insiders, developers and so on. I want these industry experts and people in the know ...

 people outraged at a proposed pub redevelopment to the point they're in the streets protesting in front of parliament, while there's actual issues like the cost of living crisis, people ending up homeless, kids going hungry, the mental health crisis, while hundreds of millions are thrown at w...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

I guess everyone has different tastes, but I see it as something of "old" Adelaide standing in the midst of "new" Adelaide. Not in a good way. That typical beige/sandstone looking building that dominates the skyline from so many angles still. It's a monstrosity, the roof is a dis...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

It isn't difficult, we just need government to pull their finger out. Look at the engineering feats around the world, even in developing countries. A few new train lines aren't anything major. We’ve just go so used to nothing happening in this country that we think even the most basic infrastructur...

Re: Forum Etiquette

Unfortunately the level of discourse on these forums is at an all time low. Just about every thread or topic I open up is a slanging match between a minor cohort of the same users over and over again. There was a time when I used to look forward to logging on and reading what news, photos and updat...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure

Yeh we'll see... At what stage in the first quarter of the year? Because my first quarterly bill for 2024 which included January and February was higher then the previous quarter. Let's see if the next one in late May will be lower, or even higher. If I was a betting man, I'd wager it being higher. ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 1 | 115m | 27 Levels | Office

On another note re this precinct....those gum trees in front of the festival centre!!?? Can anyone imagine large eucalypts in front of the Sydney opera house? Whilst everyone's entitled to an opinion, you can see from some responses why this state is the way it is. That landscape we're talking abou...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

To be honest, I cannot see a business case for urban rail to Virginia and Riverlea ever stacking up, despite being quite a large potential catchment area (40,000+ people). It would be an extension of about 16-17km which you would need to double-track to join it to the existing Gawler line. This is ...
