[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

I'd imagine there's a fair bit of steel fabrication going on offsite.

The render in that article mentions a re-design. I haven’t seen this whole thread, but I don’t think I’ve seen this before:

Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

St. Louis is opening somewhere on Rundle Street, any guesses where it's going? There's some non-specific teaser graphics of something coming soon up on the window of the former Mimco store, but that would seem too small (and a weird location — it's all fashion stores there). The former T2 or Max Br...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Now that Rundle Plaza and City Arcade have been taken up by new majors, what are everyone's guesses for where Uniqlo or Zara might go? Once the Gawler Place upgrade is complete, it'd be great to see that Gallerie arcade proposal get off the ground with one of the two. Would really help to build the...

[APP] Re: 29 Twin Street | ~122m | 36lvls | Student accom

Not sure if I've missed something here but google maps shows 29 Twin St as the Gays Arcade building. Is this proposal to demolish Gays Arcade or build it on the carpark site directly behind the Ibis? It’s for the land behind Ibis and is the main reason the Jade Monkey was demolished rather than jus...

[CAN] Re: 207 Pulteney Street | 195m | 60 Levels | Mixed Use

The project is definitely not dead. The team is working hard on it. There are now many stakeholder meetings taking place. Change of government has not affected support for the project. As with any significant project, all of us have confidentiality requirements. What I will say is that it's a fanta...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Contemporary Art Gallery - Designs on Page 6

very much fits the new brief around aboriginal art. I'm not quite down with the assumption of a "new brief". I think it would be an appalling act to take the years of work and money spent by the art gallery to get this far, and just hand it all over to the museum. Marshall should be remin...

That’s awesome, thanks Nathan. I think I’m now leaning towards the Adjaye/BVN design. It’s a really challenging building. People will love and hate it at the same time, which is a sign of something great. It’s basic at the same time as being confronting at the same time as integrating into the lands...

[VIS] Re: Adelaide Contemporary Art Gallery - Designs on Page 6

I’m a bit surprised at how underwhelming they all are. They’re good enough, but I thought we were looking for a Bilbao-type put-Adelaide-on-the-map landmark here, which people would want to visit just to see the outside, let alone what art’s on display. It might look like a glorified Pizza Hut, but ...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway Revitalisation Projects

I'm guessing that the ACC's pretty aware that these things suck and is just having it out with whoever they bought them from as to who's responsible. They should probably just take them down now and argue about who pays to replace them later.
