Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Re: Sir Donald Bradman Drv / Marion Rd Upgrade
Once the North South Motorway is completed, this stops being the main road to the airport, doesn't it? People from the north have to leave the motorway before Port Road and use Grange Road and Airport Road; people from the South will use a new access via Richmond Road? It will be split among the th...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Adelaide Metro is designed to transport people in the morning peak from 8 am to 9 am and the afternoon peak from 5 pm to 6 pm. This means Adelaide Metro hires drivers for two shifts and they have excess capacity in the middle of the day. If we want to introduce free fares, the first place to introd...

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide
Athletes don't need a village, they can stay in hotels. Sports competitions don't need spectators, they can watch on TV. Sports events are really cheap to run if all it is is a competition between athletes. Adelaide can host this without spending any money on more infrastructure. It's not going to b...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line
Reposting a Port to Semaphore tram concept from several years ago that I resurrected last year. Since the lines would be completely separated from the main network, could be a great chance to explore alternative power options with short sections of battery operation or ground-supplied power. A tram...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Is there any indication as to when the pedestrian crossings at North Adelaide, Ovingham and Islington will be switched on? And further to that, when the Gawler line will 100% be electric? Sorry if this has been posted previously but can't find any info. The Ovingham N crossing had been scheduled fo...

Pleased to see this week an acknowledgement, led by the new Lord Mayor, that maintenance of the city and its parklands has been profoundly neglected in recent years. It seems moves are underway to finally pull us out of a shabby decline: https://indaily.com.au/opinion/2023/04/24/autumn-leaves-cant-...

I was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now I think it'll be good for Adelaide yes we'll only be 50 years behind when a building of that height was Melbourne's tallest  ...and Pe...
