[COM] Re: Great bloody big led screen thingy for City Cross

Great to see you back again Stelaris - have missed your input on the site. I'm impressed with this as for reasons said before - the CBD needs more light and life - in this case variable light. When I lived in Adelaide KWS appeared like a dark canyon at night after about 9.00 (mid 1980's) ADELAIDE -...

They mostly screen adds, over time i find that i don't look at them...I guess they adda bit of colour to the streetscape, but nothing more than t...

memoirs of a european holiday, and the train experience

I for one do not for one millisecond doubt that our PT in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide need revamping, extending and rebuilding and every complaint is warranted by all that have vented thus far. However, issues of standing and cramming on trains is something we all have to get used to. on a recent...

Re: Planning System Overhaul 2008

I wasn't sure where this fits in.. maybe it deserves a thread on its own or maybe one already exists.. but the link below http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23840526-5006301,00.html hit online pages about 12pm today and talks about a 30 year master plan for the city. Re: Cholesterol Medication - Scam or not?

I was recently diagnosed as having high cholesterol (6.4) and told to take cholesterol tablets everyday for the rest of my life arrrgghhh... My GP says it will reduce my chance of heart-attack by 37%, and there's only a 1% increase in chance of side-effect. sounds reasonable right?... :wank: well r...

bound to happen...Mitsububishi have been downscaling for years. Its only about 900 jobs from mitsubishi proper and 200 or so from associated parts suppliers... With the current jog opportunities in SA, all those people (those that want to) should find work....It isnt as bad as everyone makes it out ...

National Geographic Channel's 'Megastructures' is also shown on the Ten HD channel during the week at some time. Check that one out too...it focusses on constructions that are extreme, ie. the biggest, longest, tallest etc. and also project's with an element of novelty such as Dubai's Palm Islands....

[COM] Re: What next for Victoria Square?

Wayno...nice job mate.... In order to bring people the square and keep them there, you would need some kind of attraction other than a "spire" and some cafes/restaurants... There would need to be some screens in place that perhaps showcase various Adelaide icons...perhaps free arthouse/mai...

Re: Melbourne risks becoming 'a backwater like Adelaide': Brumby

The more I think about this the more angry I'm getting. I am filled with rage that a senior representative; a premier to be in fact would make such a damaging and outrageously hurtful comment. Our dignity has been raped. you should read the comments on new.com.au would make your blood evaporate!

what a tool! He hasnt even got his fact correct! Our channels are the deepest in the nation (along with Sydney and Brisbane) at a depth of 14.2m. This would make us leaders not backwater! I hope that their alleged dredging gets stopped by the nimbys...that way more freight will come our way seeing t...
