[COM] Re: #PRO: Northern Connector | 14km
It's common for fast and wide rural freeways to turn into in narrow congested metro roads. Look at basically every major highway entering Sydney.

Re: Adelaide Station to close for a month
I think it'd be less disruptive to keep the trains running during the day and have the work done on nights and weekends, even if it takes 3 months rather than 1. It's hard to convince the public that public transport is a reliable option when this happens.

Re: Adelaide Station to close for a month
Wow, I'm floored that they're going to close the city's only station. That's just unthinkable in my mind. Can't they do half-and-half or something? What other places? Show some specific examples were similar work was carried out above bare naked train lines that were still in operation. Chatswood, S...

Re: First tolled tunnel -- where should it go?
Having lived in both Sydney and Canberra, I reject the idea that Canberra is a model we should follow. Canberra residents complain about their transport network like anyone else. Generally everything is over-built. There literally are six lane roads that turn into two lane roads. Adelaide's public t...

The centre will use the existing Harris Scarfe loading bays in the basement of the U-Park.Just build it wrote:Can someone remind me where the loading bay is for this place? It's going to have to be pretty large to fit the Coles DC and H/S Semis in and get them turned them around.

^^ I disagree, the parklands should be controlled by the state and not the ACC. The half a dozen or so councils which border the ACC have a vested interest in well maintained parklands so they should wear the cost too, but the structure of our local government system prevents this. As a next best so...

Yeah I agree. Focus on the rest of the economy. Luxury brands will come in their own time.

Re: A Discussion about Tolls (on roads..)
I still find your example 'offensive' because you are ading an additional cost to people who can least afford it. That person probably lives in Aldinga, because they can't afford to live anywhere else. By adding a $100 week tax to them, you would also be reducing their ability for employment as the...

I'm a fan of the design. I think it suit's Adelaide in that it's simple and elegant. It's modern but not showy.
This is a bridge for Adelaide, not Melbourne, not Sydney, not Brisbane. They've done well.

Re: New Retail in the CBD
supermarkets can only sell alcohol in a separate room/building/space from the supermarket aisles. Overseas ie NZ and Canada one of the aisles will have alcohol for the little toddler to pick up and place in the trolley. Here in Australia by law it has to be separate from the supermarket. The ACT ha...
