Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

IMG_3794.JPG IMG_3793.JPG IMG_3728.JPG I've had the chance to walk some of the completed laneways and street makeovers over the last week, to see how they have developed over the last couple of years. A quick update: Bank Street - looks good. Trees have grown and several cafes now making use of the...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

The Jacaranda tree (second picture) with a granite base is now in place in Gawler Place North, as are some of the other trees. Should look nice when the trees mature some more.

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

The new trees have been planted in Gawler Place south. The new ones for Gawler Place north are waiting their turn in temporary baskets.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I think it's more distressing that people actually still lap this populist policy crap up. Labor SA are a privatisation machine, this faux concern is completely transparent and it is utterly bizzare that anyone who can click their own fingers is actually falling for it. They won't cancel any contra...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Labor will announce this weekend that they will take back any tram or train services that are outsourced by the Liberals if they are elected at the 2022 state election. I believe the option of taking back the bus contracts will be explored too. Good news for those of us who have concluded that there...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

On balance, if they lay the paving on a concrete base and look after the new trees and greenery in the next few years this should look better than it did. It baffles me though that the State Govt./ Renewal SA can act so quickly whilst we're still waiting for Adelaide City Council to start its bits o...

Yep. They don't even need to spend that much money on it. It baffles me that they have spent 8 million dollars or so on Gawler Place (note: not opposed to the upgrade but reckon they could have economised a bit) when Currie and Grenfell Streets could be brought up to standard with 3 or 4 million dol...

[COM] Re: 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Crowne Plaza / Adelaidean | New tallest

Does anyone know what floor level the building is currently at? The concrete core appears to have topped out. I know there is discussion about this on earlier pages suggesting the core would be reconfigured and continue upwards, but this doesn't appear to be happening on site. Surely the highest po...

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m

Perhaps I'm misremembering, but I seem to recall Abiad as one of the councillors who were less than supportive of the project at the time. Either way, glad it's back on the agenda, even if still years away and likely to cost much more to fully achieve the masterplan than is being mooted below: Abia...
