Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
Now that you mention the gas line upgrades, I remember now that there actually is a sign on South Road (southbound just before Richmond Road) advising that there will be gas line replacements on Greenhill Road. I don't know the exact dates though.

and I thought I read somewhere that the Noarlunga line will be closed for 9 months from January to September next year  I heard that on the radio earlier today.. That seems very excessive. They've very recently re-sleepered and improved this line, so I would imagine the only thing to do is e...

Re: ## General Public Transport thread
You can get 2 section single trip tickets on the bus, you just have to ask for one specifically. If you don't say "section ticket" or "2 section", then you'll be given a normal ticket. 2 section multi-trips are bought from outlets, just like any other multi-trip. Nothing happens...

Re: ## General Public Transport thread
I don't use buses very often, and I didn't even know about any of this stuff. Just wondering, how exactly do I know which ticket I'm purchasing? Is the ticket purchased on board just a regular longer distance ticket? And I'd have to buy a short distance from a retailer? And what if I do get the chea...

Re: North-South Corridor
Alternatively, I'd suggest to reserve a corridor through the Mitsubishi site for a ground level freeway adjacent the Tonsley rail corridor, and then tunnel from the northernmost edge of the land parcel onwards to the former Glenelg rail corridor at Plympton. They should definately save some of Mits...

I'm pretty sure it's the Morphett Street Bridge, but I may be wrong. Edit: From Wikipedia (River Torrens page) The Victoria Bridge extends from Morphett Street and crosses the rail lines from the Adelaide Railway Station and the river. The first bridge was opened on 21 June 1871, and over time vario...

Re: CBD Development: General
I don't think a regular zebra crossing would be enough to change the mentality of drivers, and many of the idiots will still cross. I also think traffic lights will cause many delays with the left turn lane, and with the amount of foot traffic in the area, would also fill the island very quickly bef...

Went through today, seems like they've got a clamp or something at the gap above Grand Junction Road. Got a photo while I was stopped at the lights. http://imageshack.us/a/img4/916/21092012659.jpg I am unsure what that piece of plywood's purpose is here though... And they've also taken the scaffoldi...

[U/C] Re: #ONH: Tea Tree Plaza Upgrade | $190m | 108,269sqm
Heard an ad on the radio today as well, saying that a Cotton On store is soon/has recently opened in the TT+ center. Being a large company, I'd say they did enough research into this, and could have afforded a store in TTP if they wished. So maybe this center isn't entirely dead yet. (Unless I mishe...

Re: Adelaide's Dangerous Roads
I understand that in peak traffic times, it's virtually impossible to reach 60 along this (and many other) stretches. I'm more patient than the average driver in this situation, and I'm content with bumper-to-bumper, because I know it's un-avoidable. My frustration comes at times like midday, or 7pm...

[COM] Re: #VIS: Oaklands Rail Overpass
IMO, it feels a little pretentious, looks quite ugly, and it doesn't match in with the Aquatic center's design, or even the station below (although that will be demolished - also quite stupid given it's only a few years old..) So by this are we implying that we shouldn't have gone ahead and started...

[COM] Re: #VIS: Oaklands Rail Overpass
I would love to see an overpass here, having been caught on Morphett Road numerous times when trains come, and getting skipped in the sequence once it's passed, but I don't much like the design and hope they don't go with it. IMO, it feels a little pretentious, looks quite ugly, and it doesn't match...

Re: Adelaide's Dangerous Roads
And yet recent posts on this forum would indicate that many think there is nothing particularly wrong South Road at Edwardstown, that conjestion is not a major issue here, it doesnt require major widening, and that 60km/h is an adequate speed limit. The solution isn't to simply improve our ro...

Adelaide's Dangerous Roads
Found this article, and really, I'm not surprised by any of these.. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/8/prweb9829621.htm After examining almost 275,000 accident claims across Australia between July 2011 and June 2012, the top five crash hot spots in Adealide are: 1. South Road, Edwardstown 2. West ...

Re: Elizabeth: Adelaide’s second CBD
It could be hard to subdivide the Elizabeth Myer store without doing major alterations to the centre to accommodate it, because unlike at Colonades the only access to the upper level of Myer at Elizabeth is internally via the store itself. This would still be similar to Colonnades, Myer had a 3rd f...
