Yeah, this looks great. Can't wait until construction begins. @Howie, I don't mind the coloured panels if they make it work like the Air apartments. Still, I don't miss them.

In regards to the tower's final heights, is the 62m figure an estimate, or the actual proposed height for one - if not, all towers?

In that article that Urban was quoting it stated that the tall apartment buildings were 17 storey at 51 metres high. So what is the actual height of these buildings going to be?

I am under the impression that the 17 level towers will be built on top of 5 level podiums, which effectively brings their height to 22 levels. But I guess we'll have to wait until final plans are released.

Yeah nice work Howie, that is the render on the back of the brochure as well. Looks a lot better IMO, not as commie looking. The talls seemed to have bulked up as well.

Wow! That looks a lot different. I am glad all of those colours have gone. Looks like a lot less concrete as well and more glass instead. Hard to tell too many details. We will get a better idea when they put in formal DA for one of the towers later this year though I suppose.

I only walked past the site, Im curious, how far wil the gallery development go? Will it extend all the way to Currie Street?

Currie Street??? Whoa that would be one long bastard! I think you mean Waymouth Street. I am under the impression that this site only takes up the existing Balfours site which would mean that it would extend down to that car yard. Still that is a pretty long building - I would say that is approximately 60-70 metres long.

The new renders are boring as :( ... but I knew UC wouldn't have the balls to stick with the first ones... they suited the area a lot better, very unique and I think they would have come off very well...

This looks soo much better than the new render, and its suites the red brick structures a lot better[/img]

I think that there was far too much concrete on the 1st towers, simply painted in 'fashion colours' that would age too quickly. Hard to tell from this new render but I think I prefer these towers. If there is a good amount of glass that would offset the red brick structure well imo.

i like this new render alot better also, from the beginning i think the main thing i didnt like about this project was the colour scheme that already looked outdated to me
the old 1 reminds me of the foul colours used in the lower half of the windows in the new commonwealth law courts building in vic sq.....and also of the festival centre plaza

the buildings themselves seem different, although its hard to see with that picture...... any1 know what the differences are?

I agree. The new render looks more slick and professional.
