Saw Nine West in the Myer Centre empty of stock today.
Another victim of COVID perhaps.

Whilst there will likely be speculation on here for big, well-known international brands to take over the HS footprint, my money is on Big W taking over the first of the two levels and the second level becoming office space. If not Big W, maybe a Target/Kmart relocation or best yet, a Zara. Whilst not all that exciting, it seems like a safe bet for any landlord. The only thing I could see stopping a Big W is that it's Woolworths Group, and Coles is in the basement level.

So it’s all of Rundle Place that is going to be sold to the Sydney investment group Fortius. I initially thought it was just the Harris Scarfe space.

Apparently 23% of the centre is vacant and they might remix existing tenancies whatever that means.

They also said Rundle Place was “remarkably similar” to the MidCity Centre in Sydney. I agree. We’ve talked before on here about how similar that Harris Scarfe space is to the space Uniqlo have there on level 1 in Sydney.

Rundle Place is extremely similar to Midcity. Midcity is also a through mall, from Pitt Street to George Street. Has similar tenant mix including mimco, witchery plus just group brands like Peter Alexander. In addition to Uniqlo on the upper levels is Rebel and a Virgin Active.

Exciting opportunity for the centre given Fortius has relationships with these key brands already - here’s hoping a Uniqlo and even Virgin Active for the ex Harris Scarfe space

Is cereal a new trend? A "cereal cafe" just opened on Morphett St too.

From walking by, I got the impression this place on the corner of Gresham is just a convenience store, but you might be right about cereal trending. There's a new place in the Myer Centre food court with a 'cereal bar' (and, concerningly, also gelato, bao, hot pot...).

The former Asian grocer on the corner of Moonta & Gouger is being completely renovated. Anyone know what it might become?

I don't think the sale attracted the necessary interest and it was pulled off the market. I know that Makris has relocated is head office to QLD and refocused the company's an interest in beachfront/marina type retail (similar to that of Holdfast Shores) so this will explain the offloading of shopping centre-type property here in SA.

The “F-Duck” restaurant in Gouger Street now has a “For Lease” sign up in one of its windows.

Does anyone remember seeing this restaurant open at all? I certainly don’t and I walk past there all the time.
