how good is he wrote:I can’t see any trees or shade and not sure why hasn’t there been more money/ effort on landscaping. Could be a concrete heat bowl in summer and cold & desolate in winter.
That will be part of the last stage , at this stage , although they have already halved the number of trees originally planned.

Given the previous lack of attention to detail regarding landscaping and water features in this precinct so for...prepare to be underwhelmed. They just don't seem to get how critical landscaping is to the success of the developments as a whole.

Unfortunately I think you will be correct.
Given what was spent and how long it's taken it's not good enough.

I’m going to reserve judgement until it’s complete but this development has been a showcasing of a lot of the issues developments have in the state.

Dumbed down, takes forever to launch and then get built and has no foresight for the future.

In five to ten years a lot of this will be ripped up to accommodate more green space. Or simply replace the green space that has died. Look at the riverbank as an example. This state needs to lift its game. It’s all cut corners and cheap and tacky resolutions. This boom on construction and development has been great in some respects but there is a lot of crap that’s come out of it that will remain within our city for decades to come.

I really, really hope there will be greenery, especially considering the report recently that due to climate change Australian cities will be rendered unlivable in 50 years. The paving looks f%@king terrible by the way. I hate being this negative nancy, but we really should expect and demand more.

Looks like the whole area needs at least 100 more trees. With all that concrete and reflections off the windows from the new casino building etc, heat will be a massive issue. Some water features would have been really nice too. Added some tranquility to the area and to help link it to the river.

You'd think they'd learn from history when the greenery and water features were downgraded from the original Hajek Plaza plan.

Totally agree...this entire precinct through to Intercontinental is almost completely devoid of soft landscaping. I'll be keen to see the final treatment when complete, however it doesn't appear the designers have learnt from past mistakes. The landscaping around the Taphouse is just woeful - is this the standard Adelaide considers 'world-class'. Finally, it will be interesting if anyone takes responsibility for maintenance

Bit hard to put in proper landscaping given the whole area is a giant five storey underground carpark. The best we can hope for are some planter boxes which, as we all know will just turn into urine soaked ashtrays after every sporting event.

The maintenance issue and buck passing between the government and council is pathetic.

There is little point on throwing millions at the Riverbank and leaving the landscaping (and footbridge waterfall) to rack and ruin.

It’s embarrassing.
Someone needs to get a grip and sort it out.

The office tower is in for tender by multiplex in today’s paper. Interestingly it’s referred to as “tower 1”. I know they were trying to get a second tower, maybe they haven’t given up on this idea.

Don't know who is going to lease a 27 storey office tower in Adelaide at the moment.
Is the the one on Pirie St. pre leased ??

Flinders Uni would be the ideal anchor tenant for this building. It gives them the City/North Tce exposure to compete with Adelaide Uni & Uni SA. With the train station adjacent plus the new Flinders line (incl. Tonsley) it’s far easier for staff & students to commute between campuses or just get to work/uni.
