Looks like preparations are underway so the piling rig can build a sub ground wall (another part was built a few months ago, before being covered over by the dirt access ramp). The area adjacent to North Terrace has been tidied up a bit, and there's a new scaffold stairway for site access

I wonder if piling for the core pad is also underway too?
Walking on over....

Drove past earlier today, and noticed there was a crane base on site. It’s on the North Terrace boundary of the site.

I had a look from the Adelaide Uni building today. They are drilling the piling retaining wall for the Bunker area to allow them to excavate it out. The bunker is another 5m deeper that the core area. The Core piles and lift pits are located where the auger is stuck in the ground. (The plan pictures below are 90 degree out from the photo orientation) When walking past the dirt they were pulling out from the piling had a smell like petrol / mothballs. There was a guy onsite spraying the dirt they excavated with some chemicals.

Pilings have been going in during the last week or so. The smell of old diesel & naphthalene/mothballs has become quite pronounced in the last few days, possibly because the piling rig is bringing up a whole lot of contaminated soil that wasn't removed earlier.
The area next to North Tce was quickly concreted just a few days before the rain - good timing!

Yeah you're right. They'll need to build the capping beam, then dig out the rest of the bunkers first

Piling rig has now departed & digging around the pilings is underway for capping. It will be interesting to see how they go about excavating the bunker, as the site access ramp is built up on top of a lot the pilings

I reckon they'll probably use a long reach excavator

Agreed. Bit different if this thread was a few months old but this is one of the few current active sites. Keep keeping your eye on it

Some people are just salty.
Patrick keep scrolling, you probably don't want to know anyway.

Services are getting marked out on the site today. I spoke to a lad on the gate and he said it was for the sewer runs
