The world's wealthiest person, Bill Gates, has 'only' $79 billion, so perhaps you mean something else?

Indeed. Top 100 wealthiest people in China and a billionaire. My point was these apartments will sell out. To him it won't matter if it's within 3 month or 18. It's not a risky development at all unless something unexpected and drastic happens economically.

So the developer is wealthy and therefore must have a history of making good business decisions. Business decisions are about making a value vs risk assessment. Going ahead with a development which only has 50% sales involves too much risk and not enough value. Obviously he is not going to want to lose his wealth.

Ok, first, whose the guy behind this development, whose in the top 100 richest in the world?

Second, what's your ranking on Forbes rich list?

Some of you often talk with such certainty about these things, I'd be interested to know how your property and development portfolios are going.
Opinions are one thing, but stating something as a fact is another.

Ben was the one who claimed that the developer
is wealthy. I am not sure where he got the information from.

There is little risk to building this apartment building in Adelaide GHS. They will all sell.. eventually. The only risk would be if he needed to sell them all within a certain timeframe to generate a certain return or to satisfy banking requirements, with the latter seemingly unlikely it would be the first that is likely to cause an issue if anything.

The only article I could find was from 2010 and is a bit vague.

exactly Ben, I have seen people build apartments with 50% sold because they didn't care if and when they sold.

It is only an issue if you need the money and you can't afford the holding costs.

Went in to the showroom today, around 35 apartments have been reserved. No contracts have been signed as they are still drawing up the contracts with the solicitors. There were a few people inspecting the showroom today.

One of the new red trams has been covered in Advertising but its pretty poor IMO it literally Says "West Franklin Adelaide's best address" No pictures or information. It's not really going to attract much interest.

In advertising terms known as a "teaser"

Shouldn't this thread be in 'cancelled' status and all info re: West Franklin created in a new thread, I'm not sure the 2 are related?

Mods?

It is still part of the precinct site. I figured that's why it has merged with this thread?
