Here's what I was able to snap while on the go.

Liberals can use these photos as one good election poster for the wire free trams…
On more serious note – it will be interesting to find out what happened, and there is no point now to speculate about "usual suspects" like worn carbon strips or an object on overhead wire.

This is the 3rd incident involving pantographs being damaged in the last month. First one near Glengowrie Depot when pantograpg snapped in half after being snagged on the overhead at the crossover. It took over 4 hours to retrieve the remains of the pantograph and repair the overhead.

Errr ... you'll have to do that with Labor's CityLINK tram plan as well. Labor don't want turning trams at the KW St and North Tce intersection at all.Nathan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 1:28 pmEven worse, something we all missed but InDaily has picked up on, no routes from Glenelg to the nRAH — you'll have to transfer to either the blue line on North Tce (I suggest people get off at Rundle Mall and walk to Gawler Place ) or to the yellow shuttle line.

Yes. But we've had to listen to the Liberals and the media hammering on for months about how bad the need to transfer is, we get a promise to spend $37m to add the right turn so people can go from Glenelg to the East End, and then they go and do the exact same thing.ml69 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:40 pmErrr ... you'll have to do that with Labor's CityLINK tram plan as well. Re: News & Discussion: Trams
The difference I thought I saw in the Liberal plan compared to the Labor plan is that under the Liberal version, several tram routes run up KWS, so when someone needs to transfer, it is to the next tram on the same platform, and doesn't require walking up the street and around the corner, crossing two lots of vehicle traffic. I'm not sure if that will be true for trams from the north, or only for the ones from the southwest.Nathan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:50 pmYes. Eh? Labor’s routes don’t require you to walk around the corner and cross traffic, you change at the Railway Station stop which both routes share.SBD wrote:The difference I thought I saw in the Liberal plan compared to the Labor plan is that under the Liberal version, several tram routes run up KWS, so when someone needs to transfer, it is to the next tram on the same platform, and doesn't require walking up the street and around the corner, crossing two lots of vehicle traffic. Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Thanks. I misunderstood then, I thought they were talking about all the routes going straight across the NT/KWS junction once they had built the next round of extensions.Nathan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 9:59 amEh? Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I was under the impression that the transfer was for people ttravelling north on the existing line into the city who then wanted to continue to the East End on the new extensionSBD wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 10:18 amThanks. Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I am just wondering out loud, what is the (political ?) rationale to delay the opening for so long. For sure, the extensions could have been completed a few weeks ago taking into account the works left after the laying of the tracks, the trickiest part of the work (egg traffic issues and so on). I can’t figure out why they so slowed down the work, almost to the point of standstill…?
