You could use that argument about most overpasses/underpasses created, I mean where does it end? After dealing with this intersection the next set of traffic lights and intersection isn't far away.

Most overpasses/underpasses created have that intersection as the current bottleneck though, so at least in the short term it helps traffic move more easily.

Going up Nottage Terrace, that road is already busy so traffic getting into it easier probably wouldn't reduce delays.

Going towards North Adelaide on Main North Road is already busy and traffic entering it more quickly likely wouldn't reduce delays.

Going northbound on Main North Road towards Gepps Cross you might save a little time, but there are already lots of points traffic stops and in peak hour it's very congested.

Adding more turning lanes and tweaking the intersection seems to be aimed towards reducing the bottlenecks where traffic is backed up waiting to turn, and the intersection can't handle the traffic loads. How does an overpass/underpass here help beyond that?

Yesterday SA Transport minister Corey Wingard announced the completion of this project.

At the last State budget $6 million was allocated for the Nottage Tce / North East Road intersection. Hopefully this will include a dual left turn lane on to North East Road so as to complete this corridor.

something that would alleviate traffic on that stretch of road would be putting clearways infront of all the car yards along main north road. If you head city bound there's usually half a dozen car carriers blocking the left lane

Agreed. What would alleviate motor vehicle traffic even more along this stretch would be to convert a lane into a full-time bus lane for the whole stretch between Robe Tce and Regency Rd, both ways.

I also note DIT touting the bike lane as a win. Really not sure why they didn’t choose to install a separated bike path here considering the amount of room available. Bike lanes immediately next to 60km/h+ roads with no protection is not much to celebrate…
