[CAN] 171-207 Gouger Street | 59m | 19lvls | Mixed Use

We just have to hope that the owner of the undeveloped site gets the hint over the (hopefully soon) rejection of the car park proposal and sell the site to someone who wants to build something decent.
This area should be full of 25-30 storey apartment blocks, given the fantastic location just next to the Gouger St cafe strip.

25-30 on this side of town is really pushing it, especially in the current market. They should be at a maximum of 10-15PeFe wrote:We just have to hope that the owner of the undeveloped site gets the hint over the (hopefully soon) rejection of the car park proposal and sell the site to someone who wants to build something decent.

A carpark would be a good temporary solution to relieve congestion at the Central Markets carpark.

What congestion? We regularly go there and very very rarely is it hard to find a park (and even then, you just head to the western end above Moonta St and you're sure to find one).[Shuz] wrote:A carpark would be a good temporary solution to relieve congestion at the Central Markets carpark.
If you're referring to the lines entering, that's due to its rabbit warren layout and people waiting for someone to leave immediately after the boom gates even if they have mountains to load instead of driving past and finding an easier one that doesn't hold up a queue of cars.
Don't forget there's already a second U Park above the bus station, and an Auto Park on Mill St behind the courts.

You think people are going to walk a whole block from their car?[Shuz] wrote:A carpark would be a good temporary solution to relieve congestion at the Central Markets carpark.
And the corner of pitt st/franklin, and the one opposite the uniting church site on franklin, and the one on young street, and the one between rowlands pl and franklin st.Nathan wrote: Don't forget there's already a second U Park above the bus station, and an Auto Park on Mill St behind the courts.
Massive parking shortage in this part of the city, really.

If I go to the Central Markets, most of the time I'll go by tram or by foot. But on the rare occasion I've gone by car, I've always found the parking situation a bit ridiculous in the immediate vicinity. So rather than driving around for ten minutes trying to score a spot as close as possible, its better to park past Morphett Street way, get a spot easily and then leg it from there. If anything you save time doing so. Surely others do the same?

The Grote Street/Bus Station car park is often full or close to full on Fridays

Looks 23 stories, but also looking more closely at the render it's clearly a very quick and dirty sketch, so would expect plenty of changes to come.

I think this was just a concept
