Surveyor on site today. There was a break in the fence so I was able to snap a pic.

Bit of activity on the site, sheet metal fence removed on western and southern side, replaced with temporary fencing. Temp fencing has been extended out half way across Norman Street.

Just looks like a general tidy up, a couple mini excavators working away, guessing the new owners are doing it.

Random question but does the existing approved development also get transferred or do the new developers have to resubmit to council?

The original development has lapsed. Any new development will have to go through a new approval process.

I spoke to the workers. They said they are just contractors for the Council. They are fixing the footpath on Norman St.

The advantage is that because site works had substantially progressed, you'd think the potential buyers are more likely to be those who actually plan to do something with it. You can't make much "holding income" from a hole in the ground. Hopefully this will deter the good for nothing landbankers and speculators who are tieing up good land in the city with no intention to ever develop it beyond converting it into an open air carpark.
