Is it actually going to do well here?
With the recent cricket numbers for the T20 world cup, the state government might be a little nervous particularly after Malinaskaus' comments about Sydney being unable to fill stadiums.

The T20 world cup games here in Adelaide aren't being that well attended from what I've seen. Sub 20,000 crowds apparently.

I think the success of this one will be determined by Melbournians willingness to travel, which I think they will. Even a few thousand ppl from Perth might make a weekend of it .Word is the magic round will be early in the season, as in April, so the weather should still be decent for exploring Adelaide and SA.

Officially announced by the AFL this morning at a press conference at Adelaide Oval with Gillon McLachlan and Peter Malinauskas.

Details:

In a league first for the national competition, all nine AFL matches featuring all 18 clubs will be played in a single state for Premiership points.

It will officially be Round 5 of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season and the nine games will be scheduled across four days, running from Thursday April 13 through to Sunday April 16, with the round of matches coinciding with school holidays.

Match-ups, timings and venues will be confirmed upon release of the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season fixture in late November – with Adelaide Oval to feature heavily.

Entry to competing club matches will be FREE for all Club and AFL Members and further ticketing information will be released shortly, with tickets on sale post the release of the fixture.

From ABC News:
All 18 men's sides will play in South Australia for the round between Thursday, April 13, and Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Adelaide Oval will host one game on Thursday and Friday night, followed by double-headers on Saturday and Sunday.

Suburban venues are expected to host at least another two matches, with the ninth possibly played in a regional area, most likely the Barossa Valley.
