Just curious what other sites other then the railyards do you think would be suited for a new sports stadium?
a bit out of left field (wont happen due to a screaming minority) but i think victoria park would be a good location,
your thoughts?
yes that is just a copy paste of football park but you get the idea

Well we have alan scott racecourse with a tram stop in front of it that gets used when there is a race on. I mean morphettville shits all over victoria park becuase morphettville holds all horse racing events and victoria holds nothing.
So id rather a new football stadium be at victoria park and let marion council worry about having a brilliant racecourse as nothing stops them from doing something good.

What about the Keswick Barracks? It's close to the city, and you won't have the East Terrace Whingers complaining. It's also close to the interstate rail terminal, which would make it easy for interstate supporters to get in and out of Adelaide.

I wish they built a new stadium...but its not gonna happen with the SANFL running the two AFL clubs.
The army barracks get my vote...if the Marj isnt built then i'd say that site by about 100 country miles though.

NOO! THINK OF THE PARKLANDS!
Keswick wont happen. Some of the buildings at the barracks are heritage listed. Would be a tight squeeze anyway. Any new stadium should be built with room to expand in the future, not just the stadium it self, but other facilities if and when they are needed.
The best place to do so, would be in the parkland's surrounding the CBD. Hell, why not on Sir Donald Bradman Drive, opposite Santos on the other side of the rail tracks? Check it out on Google Earth, its dead grass. When was the last time that was used for anything?

Yes rev is rite...
Things to consider in order of preference of Adelaide development.....
1) Parklands.
2) How good Adelaide will be after the development is finished.
This will ensure Adelaide will keep progressing.

I wasn't talking about the barracks, I was talking about somewhere in the suburb like near the interstate terminal

Built it in Vic Square, people might actually go there.
Nah seriously, I would just like to see it close to the city. Anywhere would do. SANTOS stadium makes sense to me though.
It makes my mouth water thinking about a new stadium

People seriously need to stop thinking of the Parklands as available land, and put more thought into a location.
Keep Adelaide Weird

That's a great idea though because it gives a good estimate of how much space is needed for a 60,000 or so seat facility. You can even rotate it to fit in those hard to reach spaces.
