I always thought the parliament building could do with a publicly accessible dome like the German Reichstag https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php? ... prov=rarw1

It certainly could increase the number of visitors to the building....

Would be nice for the dome to be built, but it's not going to happen in the current climate where many people don't take pride in such things.

The city council can’t even finish off a fucking square with some gardening bits you think these monkeys will put on a dome?

In the middle of a cost of living crisis and a time where we should be enhancing our public transport network and fixing our health system, the one thing I’ve always wanted is a big-ass dome on the top of Parliament House!

Are we being serious? :?

One thing the building will overshadow is Parliament House's solar panels.

There's hoardings setup along the footpath on the King William Rd side of Parliament, only saw it briefly driving past today but seems to connect to this site.

Does anyone know if this development has a plan that’s been submitted to the state assessment body?

Any sort of application?
If so can you provide link

Plenty already happening below the surface on this one.

Do you mean the foundation or behind the scenes? It’s not been approved yet has it?

The State Government has made it clear they have a hardon for this development (maybe the sunlight into their parliament offices is too bright and they can't be bothered closing blinds?) so safe to assume it's going on even if all the approvals aren't public yet.

It's quite a nuisance trying to use the car park at the moment.

Forgive my ignorance, but I thought the carpark substructure and columns were built with the second tower provisions already in place?

The carpark structure was only designed to support the originally proposed 3 level plaza building. Looks like the basement is currently being cut open to allow new columns and cores to be constructed below the ground/plaza level.
