The proposed building is far too tall for this part of the city...

Yes, it's the building containing the Snap Printing outlet.

Some more info, courtesy of our mate Paul Pruszinski.
The building is located between bob-jane T Mart and Homestart, and comprises ground, two floors of carparking (behind the green wall), and 5 floors of offices incorporating double skin facades and louvres. The top two floors are very unique with landscaping located inside the double skin walls. The west wall is going to feature a Kahn wind arbour as seen on the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore, providing a dramatic & dynamic city art, especially at night as it's flickering movement reflects the city lights. Construction is anticipated early in the 2nd half of 2012.

Looks pretty nice. The wind arbor should certainly give it some interest.
Here's a video of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel's, to show the effect:

A friend of mine just got himself a job at Pruzinski architects, and told me about this proposal a few weeks ago.

It is going to be the Pruzinksi architects headquarters going by what im told.

Agreed, the devlopment growth plan only allows for a maximum height of 3.5m in that part of the city. Rejected!

Yeah, we cannot approve this; not only is it about 7 stories too tall, it's also completely out of character with the heritage listed Bob Jane premises.

Not to mention the way it encroaches on the empty space above and around it, such reckless space filling cannot be permitted in or around the CBD.

Interestingly this has been valued at $4m and as such will be assessed by the ACC.

If I was them I'd be fitting the beams with solid gold and diamond encrusting the windows to get it past the $10M mark
