The base for this has already been done?
If so a crane will follow quickly ......

The basement carpark structure and foundations would have already accounted for the office tower going on top of it. You can see the start of the ground level column starter bars covered up by black plinths in ChillyPhilly's recent photos.

Do we know when a new part of the plaza may open? I had a quick look online for a timeline and couldn’t find anything. I recall plaza works on the concrete slab South of the Festival Centre will be happening from mid-July until February next year.

Was hoping perhaps more might open around Station Road and the Dunstan Playhouse perhaps?

I don’t hate them they give me a late 80s Rundle Mall vibe hahahahaha

I’m more concerned about the half arsed job they’ll do on the landscaping.

It’ll look half done then die in a year or two only for them to do it again half arsed in five years. Making the area look no better than it did before the revamp what three years ago now? This project had been a mess.

So we're judging a project prior to it even being completed now? Ok then....

We should be asking why it’s taken so long. And why there have been cuts. This is ridiculous. This space could be a crown jewel in our city along with Vic Square. But the government has paid them both no mind

I hate to pick on this particular development as it seems to be the norm everywhere, but those pavers are pretty average. I mean, the colours are probably used because they won't stain but c'mon, expected something better here. So bland

.......I don't mind the finish on the stairs though.

Amendment has been lodged to change part of the use to education establishment. I think that confirms flinders uni as the tenant.

Having the new direct rail link in place between Flinders and ARS has made this decision easier for Flinders Uni to go ahead with their long plan of establishing a major presence in the CBD, it will allow them efficient people movement between the two sites.

This is a good fit anchor tenant to dovetail Ade Uni and Uni SA in the wider educational, medical, innovative and cultural North Terrace precinct end to end - from East End to West End.

Ben's post however doesn't indicate an Flinders taking up an anchor tenancy, but rather a small tenancy probably as a replacement to their Victoria Square premises which is only two floors of personal study and admin space. I'll happily be proven wrong if Flinders are in fact taking up a majority of this building, it'll make building this eyesore on prized public land a little more justified.

I thought it had been common knowledge for some months that Flinders Uni was planning to set up a significant presence in the CBD, hinting that this move will be far more than just relocating the existing space in the CBD.
