wow, looks like it is going to be of a similar standard to hallett cove and hallett cove beach.

I give it 24 hours after opening before its trashed to absolute hell.

Oaklands, Hallett Cove Beach and Hallett Cove have held up extremely well. Oaklands has been there several years now.
Vandalism resistance and personal safety are at the core of their design. People complain that they are wind swept; its a deliberate feature in their design so that the entirety of the station can be seen at any one time. Even those limited wind breaks that they have installed (corrogated thingis) are semi-transparent to improve safety. The stations are very well lit.
The materials used are also designed to be solid and vandal resistant.
They also have state-of-the-art security and monitoring including motion sensors.
That said, Elizabeth will be the truest test yet...

How about you just talk about the project instead of making fucktard comments?[Shuz] wrote:

Actually, in all fairness, it's not just an Elizabeth problem - I'd say the same thing for the new Seaford and Seaford Meadows stations once they open. They'd be vandalised within hours as well.Hooligan wrote:Oops sorry, i forgot that all of Adelaide is vandalism free besides Elizabeth.Hooligan wrote:How about you just talk about the project instead of making fucktard comments?[Shuz] wrote:

So Elizabeth, Seaford and Seaford meadows are the only stations to be vandalised?
Ok.

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of suburban rail networ
When I used the Gawler line, Salisbury station (largely wooden - except the main stn bldg )was fully trashed every two weeks and was almost fully repainted every month. Every board was vandalised with print of some sort. Bodes well for Elizabeth...not!
A teacher I knew taught at Elizabeth and said they had to have dogs and guards every night to prevent the vandalism. You couldn't get the kids in during the day - they arrived at night for other activites. Hope Elizabeth stastion lasts the distance.
