reduction system, but I'm not sure of that ...

Here's a shot of Flexity 101 approaching stop 7 on the Glengyle Tce diversion down track.
I imagine that the concrete pillars will support the pedestrian/cycle path as they are on the Northern side of the mainline alignment.

The large auger has been working on the foundations for a couple of weeks.

A tender went out a while back for overhead wire and supporting pole replacements from Victoria Square to Glenelg. Hopefully we will also see the same poles down southern King William Street and an upgrade of the tram stops there for disabled access.

Thanks for the information on the tender for overhead wire and supporting pole replacements for the tram from Vic Sq. to Glenelg, UrbanSG.

Do you know if there are any plans to build (and widen) safer platforms, with cover from the elements, in southern King William St.? This would necessitate removing or converting existing angle car parking on both sides of the street. You have pointed out the need for better disabled access. Currently, tram patrons squeeze on to an incredibly narrow platform with minimal signage and information, no seats or shelter and minimal protection from city traffic buzzing past in close proximity.

This area of King William St. is about to gain an influx of workers with major developments nearing completion, hence improved and safer tram stops are essential.
Any chance of creating a dedicated tram lane and banning vehicle right turns in this section of King William St?

City South being my tram stop, I'm constantly wondering why the stop didn't get an upgrade as part of the first extension. It remains the only stop without shelter, and heck, they don't even have a timetable posted up. Even in the last year, I've seen a significant increase in the number of people getting on or off at the stop as well.

I believe that the whole King William Street sector is in need of a major overhaul. Maybe they can do it all in one hit, it shouldn't be too costly, maybe $10m-15m for new track, new stop, new road layout and a new footpath.

Just a quick comment about the Trams. I do love them, but is there ANY other way to alert commuters that a tram is the 'City Shuttle' or 'Glenelg' trams other than a bit white piece of paper on the front of the window. It looks so tacky and budget. Come on, it's the 21st Century.

They do already. The southbound city shuttles are advertised on the desto as "City Shuttle - South Terrace" and yet some commuters continue to be confused.
