That's the Playhouse Lane carpark, which has been there for some time.jk1237 wrote:hang on, those photos are of the building site aren't they. I havent kept my eye on this thread, please tell me the carpark has already been built, and this is for the actual building.
Gawd what are we doing to our CBD. We are still in the 60s and 70s building carparks while everyone else is doing the opposite
The carpark in the background is actually the Young Street car park.Nathan wrote:That's the Playhouse Lane carpark, which has been there for some time.jk1237 wrote:hang on, those photos are of the building site aren't they. You're right. For some reason I thought I was in the Uno thread.Norman wrote:The carpark in the background is actually the Young Street car park.Nathan wrote:That's the Playhouse Lane carpark, which has been there for some time.jk1237 wrote:hang on, those photos are of the building site aren't they. Fixed.Snorkie wrote:As they are leaving the front of the site vacant hopefully something can be proposed quickly or Adelaide will be one huge carpark!
so your 1 trip into a car park prior to 9am indicates that there is an undersupply of carparksdbcrow wrote:So another carpark is going up? I walked from the bus station to Waymouth Street this morning.
- the carpark on top of Truscotts
- temporary carpark in between Trustcotts and the Bus Station
- the Bus Station carpark
- Young Street carpark
- Henry Waymouth carpark(behind Workcover)
Yesterday I parked in Young Street carpark. Got there just before 9:00am and parked on Level 2. Young Street is now 6 levels, but only 2 of them are being used. There isn't enough demand.
And now they're building another one????
Talk about over-supply!
I think the point was in the franklin Street vacinity. I parked in the new Young Street park last friday and I got a park on the first level. On a Midday at friday probably only 70% of the first floor was full while the remainder of the 6 levels were empty (I know this because I went to the top to get a view of the adjacant construction site).Waewick wrote:so your 1 trip into a car park prior to 9am indicates that there is an undersupply of carparksdbcrow wrote:So another carpark is going up? I park down rundle street between the Upark on HJ's and the Ezipark accross the road from the Megistic gardens hotel
both always 80% capacity when I am there (probably closer to 90%) - there is a significant demand for car parking in the city...on week days.
