They did have to change their schedule after requests from the Fringe that they don’t work through while people visit the Parade of Lights. I suspect that has slowed down things considerably has it drastically reduced the number of hours they have overnight.

I am familiar with that request and with due respect for your opinion, I don’t think that should be used as the main reason for such delay. All work area was fenced from the beginning and they had a chance to finish the stops without big disruption like it was when they were laying the tracks...

I’ve just bought a nice old Gregory’s map of Adelaide from eBay, that I’m thinking of getting framed.

I’m not sure of it’s age, but what caught my eye was the amount of red tram lines, present throughout the city!

Hanson and Brown St are pre 1967, lacking Frome is pre 1962.
All the tram lines ended 1957 basically.

The map looks like it is pre 1952 as the Franklin Street tramway loop hasn’t been included.

This may be of interest to you, it’s an interactive map of the entire former Adelaide tramway system which has been made by the Tramway Museum at St Kilda. Every tram route and every single tram stop (around 440 in total) is clickable and where possible, photos from the Museum archive have been used to illustrate each stop where available (over 1200 photos at least).

Thanks Will409 and bits for the info! I’m pretty new to Adelaide so hadn’t even picked up on the different street names and certainly not the lack of a tramway loop (I just imagined this would have been its peak).

How good is that interactive map btw?! I’d nearly written the comment “I wonder what this would have all looked like” and that map shows it.

I don't know about that. I've always thought the best day to be a male footy fan in Adelaide is when Norwood hosts Sturt at
the Parade. The finer female footy fans of Adelaide tend to congregate en-masse good looking and interested in footy? sounds pretty good to me

I see that there is now a 5kph Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) for trams turning left from King William St into North Tce. Presumably this is a response to the incident on Friday 9 March 2018. The trams are going so slowly around the curve that they are not clearing the intersection before the lights turn green for North Tce traffic. Hopefully this isn't like the TSR for trams going south on King William St between Victoria Square and South Tce which has been in place for over 12 months. So much for "temporary".

There’s been some minor works occurring during the days this week — tiling of platforms, concrete pours for ramps, and new traffic signals installed (the ones around Frome St and the East End stop are fully operational).
