That's a crappy example. Bottom line: graffiti sub-culture is one of the things that makes society more interesting and visually stimulating, legal or not. I don't want to live in your idealistic world Rhino :p

Back on topic! Does anyone have any photos from the Electra house upgrade? I'm overseas for 6 months..
Bottom line is that people have no right to put their mark on someone else's property, interesting (to some) or not. I have no problem with Council-approved graffiti walls etc, or work that is commissioned, and I fail to see why my example was a crappy example - is it because it refers to your property?

Couldn't agree more. If the street art is done by a professional with approval it works looks great and it's morally sound. If some random hero expressive what he calls art on someone else's property without permission its just annoying and pathetic. Maybe there could be designate area's for random pieces.

On a side note I am in Japan now and by no means am I implying tall buildings are not important or Japan doesn't have enough of them but it's a reminder that street level interaction, planning and vibrancy is the key to a successful city not to mention smart infrastructure.

It looks as though the update to Darling Building on Franklin St may finally be under way. The front of the building has been fenced off and deliveries of building materials have been taking place for a week or two now.
