So far so good! It's hard not to imagine how much better Vue would look had it been clad in a similar black to this one.

There seems to be a lot more white involved in the renders. The black (or charcoal grey) may not be a bad thing though, makes it look bulkier and not as "chopped up"

crawf wrote:Sleek design and a boast to the main city entrance from the airport. I look forward to more development along Grote Street.
Also makes quite an impression coming in to the city along Port Road and I add my vote that the colour scheme is actually working surprisingly well from what is visible so far. It's really quite different to anything else in the city with maybe the exception of one of the Zen buildings on Flinders but that's much smaller/less prominent.

You think? I drove past and thought the opposite. I didn't particularly like the renders, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw how it is looking so far. Certainly seems like it is going to be a much nicer looking building that Vision.

I think.

Looks as close to the renders than any other city development I can remember in recent times.

Thanks for the update.

It has a certain 'Docklands' look about it, which is not a bad thing at all IMO.

A lot of the white that you see in that render is reflection on the balcony glass. Judging by some angles on pictures posted, it looks like the balcony glass is a different colour/shade to the other glass.

Do you mean in the lower levels? If so the glass hasn't been installed yet and that is just wooden barriers.

The more I see of it the more I like it... and it's just as well given how prominent this one is - in terms of not having much close to it of any height, the general bulkiness of it and that it is visible from many approaches to the city.

Nah I mean the upper levels(I can see clearly the wood this time unlike the Adel. Uni medical building  )
If you look at the render the balconies look white. But in the real life photo they are black/dark grey. They look white(imo), because of reflections in the renders as they are a different shade/luminosity or whatever to the main glass of the building.

It's a nice building.
My only gripe, is 1) it's not taller and 2) at that height it would be better suited at Glenelg.
But of course lets not complain too much, it's turned out pretty good so far and is a much needed addition to that part of the city.

As mentioned by Ben some of the balcony Glass has not been installed yet and the openings are just covered by Ply wood, also today''s picture of the Eastern side showing more reddish /pink bits. Pictures Saturday 25 Feb 2017. I think the cladding is redder in real life than in the pictures.

It is much redder in real life. Looks good.
